To those not affected by yesterday's outage:

No one is experiencing slow connection at night but fast during the day?

If u look on this page alone, u can see how many ppl complaining about downtime... they must fix their services because they are giving a premium service at a premium price

Well, i suggest they ONLY cap those that download more than 1TB a month... hahaha  rclxms.gif

LOL, this is true and I'm with you regarding this. On service provider end, they need to ensure that meet a certain matrix. Or else, they will have to compensate for it.

I've installed Unifi around 2 weeks ago and its been superb. WoW and Rift has never been appealing while my wife enjoys Glee and the iConcert on its IPTV. So far no problem (touchwood).

However we had to use this device which allows 'broadband' to run through electricity as I the modem, router etc is in our bedroom while the TV is outside.

Just wondering if any of you is currently using this device? Its you plug it to a wall socket and the lan cable from the set-top box is then connected to it.

On another note, do you guys have wall sockets for lan cable? if so, is it hard to do?

cheers

my unifi disconnect itself sometimes..at midnight..maybe a few times a week.but this kind of disconnection still ok for me because it reconnect itself in just a minute...but sometimes when it disconnect the router wont reconnect to the internet..the vdsl did
but the router just glow the orange color...

ps: the button on the right side of router modem is to refresh the wireless right? because my android phone always having problem connecting to the wifi..and computers dont have this kind of problem....just the phone and sometimes iphone..after i hit the button the phone quickly connected to wifi..

The device you said is known as homeplug. Quite a lot of people here using it. If you got it and it does the job, don't bother to make the wall socket for lan cable. You need to drill ur wall if you were to install that. It's not that easy as you're not doing it when you renovating your house or what. Means you can't pull the cable however you like.

These homeplug devices shouldn't have problems for UniFi speeds as well as streaming HD contents as I myself use it to somehow wire my home for high speed devices. biggrin.gif

I'm shifting to an apartment soon, I'm afraid that VDSL2 is not as good as FTTH, because my apartment is old one, but got TM Unifi lah.

Second concern is that I might not be able to get the stability of line that I've enjoyed in my current area.
