Hey guys,

just registered with the package VIP5 yesterday. But the installation date would be somewhere in August. Any chances to make em earlier? Just moved in a new house and the only available service around my area is UniFi (others no coverage), we can't do much work without internet.

Hi Antidream,

your Aug, mine 22 July... I have same problem like yours...new area in Puchong.

Of cos the fiber come with metal cable. if not the fiber can easily cut of. smile.gif
btw what package and speed u got?
*
you mean the fiber is covered by a metal ? because when I scrap the rubber cover it only exposed the metal. maybe if I try to cut the metal than I will find the fiber.

I subscribe the VIP5. so far whenever I test I got 4.5 to 4.9Mbps download and upload speed.

oi. dont simply cut the cable.
its there for a reason k. later if ur fiber break apart u hv to pay for the whole fiber ok. and its not cheap. sweat.gif
unlike copper cable where u can simply cut and join it back. but for fiber its not as simple as that.

its smthg like this. (refer attachment)
however the fiber is much more smaller than the metal cable as it only hv 2 core of fiber.

it was landasan... but they weren't quite familiar with the rb750 as they are more towards wireless deployment.. so it took them some time to figure it out..

but all and all its was okie.. good experience for them as they can add another source of revenue smile.gif heheheheh

What stupid customer service is this... I tried 3 days to reach their call centre to talk about moving unifi to new home.

NOBODY picked up the phone at all. Half an hour still nobody pick up the phone.

Ridiculous.

@JinXXX & cannavaro

Not sure we are talking about the same thing here blink.gif

I'm referring to whether it's possible for us UniFi users to download/upload, basically file sharing with each other locally, without having to use the existing vlan.500 bandwidth flex.gif

Btw, that vlan trunking by JinXXX using RB750+RB250GS is indeed a fantastic solution for those want to deliver both vlan.500 & 600 over a single Cat ! rclxms.gif

smile.gif, well its only practical as most ppl have with their tv some kind of internet enabled gaming console or some sort of media players

my rb750 and rb250gs is the best 300 bux investment i ever made..

its super stable... and IT WORKS....

now i only need TM to triple my vip5 speed to vip15 while maintaining the price

and have some god damn sports channel on the iptv...

it's better still if we can totally replace the TM solution including the modem itself... smile.gif

hope someone will come out with a solution for that... but it will be expensive as it need to have a fiber port..

actually there is. .. but are users willing to fork out 800 bux for the fiber optic device ? which makes not much difference as its only a bridging device...

Anyone installed dd-wrt firmware on your DIR-615's?
I just did mine and i was tweaking around with the wireless settings..

About the TX power thing...
I currently set mine to 125. I didnt dare to do anything more than that yet just in case its too much.

I was wondering, how much of 'TX power' is considered too much?

Hi guys, i'm a streamyx user and currently facing a problem in my block, i not sure is it the right place to ask, so i will ask here before i open a new thread.

Recently my neighbour applied for UniFi, days before the technician came to set up for them, my connection are perfectly fine and no lag/spike whatsoever during my gaming session, but after the technician came to set up for them, my connection seems to be unstable, the usual ping i get in Counter Strike is from 20-30, but now i keep getting random ping spike, the ping will shoot up to 70-100 and back to 20-30, its irritating me, i wonder is it my modem problem or whether the technician accident touched my telephone line at the telephone box (sorry i dunno what is it called, its located at ground floor of my apartment).

I've tried different IP range from 60.51/52/53/54 and even 175.xx, all also gave the same problem.

I'm using this modem router belkin f5d7634, which is a old model with life time warranty, and been used for like 3-4 years, so i wonder is it whether my modem has comes to its time that caused my ping goes up and down, hope someone that experienced this before could help me out, thanks!

Of course... But try with direct download/bt/other thing before calling. Might be speedtest server prob too.

LOL

You may recall when we first had Streamyx and the modem cost like RM800 each biggrin.gif

You are right that its only a bridging device. The Huawei modem seems robust as far as I know though.
