Technician came today, said the problem was with the main cable to the condo. Could take a week to fix.
However, it's been stable for 5 minutes already, longer than since it got installed... so I'm hopeful smile.gif

Im glad my DLINK is going really strong and I have no complaints about it. Installed a fan for it and the coverage is not bad at all. My house 2 floors, router installed 1st floor hall, i can still get WIFI behind my house outside on my HTC, not only "get" I can still surf. wink.gif

Nope. I had ten minutes of uptime, then it died again.
Anyone else in Dynasty Garden with problems?

On the router, things look fine when I power it up, then after a while the VOIP light goes red, dsl starts blinking, and then goes out completely.
I have no access to log on to it, but I can log on to the wireless (DIR-615) and its log says:

"Apr 11 13:16:41  ","Attack! SYN flooding attack from WAN (ip:69.246.68.222) detected."
"Apr 11 13:12:28  ","Attack! Xmas port scan attack from WAN (ip:127.0.0.1) detected."

*
Last night I had a similar problem that my VOIP light goes red, DSL light goes off, then blinks & reconnected like every 5 to 10 minutes even after I reboot the modem & router several times.

I did NOT manage to check my router log but guess it's possible the SYN flooding attack hits the Huawei modem at the very first place while the SYN flooding & Xmas port scan attack prevention is set at the router (DIR-615).

Guess TM should really make some configuration to the Huawei modems to prevent such things from happening.

Anyway, currently this morning, so far it is ok.

isn't the huawei thinggy just a bridge device ? syn attack shouldn't reach it also...

the voip is on a totally separated network, not a "ONLINE" network....

That's not quite true. Both standards are openly available under ITU-T G.993 and G.984. You can even go and download it for free.

The main reason there aren't many GPON equipment available is because it is a small market. Many countries are still starting the transition to fiber.

eventhough standard are openly, u never heard that Huawei ONU equipment being used with ALU OLT right, yes in the future they might be compatible each other.

but for now, they can't be used together,

This could very well be the reason:

VoIP flooding attack

yes. it is bridged for internet access and and iptv. not the voip. voip authenticated need to be done in BTU.

so do not hard reset your BTU.

Hi, all.. I have some question regarding to Unifi

What I knew is that promotion save up $200 for unifi installation but only 15m fiber optic included.
1. where does this 15m fiber optic wired from & wired to ? 15m enough?
2. Additional charges during installation?
3. Existing home rental phone line number, can be associated with unifi ?since unifi itself provide a new phone line/number
4. In term of bills, any minor or services charge included for TM bills?

That means you're attacking yourself. Scan your computer for malware and try do some port forward when using internet other than common port, especially bt.

You have to choose a new number since the phone line by UniFi is VoIP while your existing phone line is PSTN.

E.g. those under TTDI exchange, the PSTN phone number is 03-772x xxxx but with UniFi, you will get this number 03-773x xxxx

Suggest Zyxel VDSL2 modems.

They have been supplying VDSL2 modems for the whole of CHT's Taiwan NGBN for the past 4 years.
This is referring to VDSL2 DSLAM/switches, bridging equipments so don't get mixed up with wireless routers.

GPON technology hass somewhat stalled with an uncertain future.
It does not have a good future direction to upgrade to 2nd generation 10gbps NG-PON as they have yet to settle with any standardization yet for it.

The experts at Google(they're Americans) are also discussing this and whether to choose to implement GPON as they found it more difficult to implement an open network with its complicated switching. They're looking more towards 2nd generation PON technologies and might consider going 10GE-PON.

The Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, Taiwanese have chosen to go the easier and simpler route of sticking purely with ethernet with GE-PON.
They already have 10GEPON now which is already a published standard - IEEE 802.3av

Malaysia, Singapore, India, Australia have all been sold to American's smart marketing of adopting GPON.
Now TM is stucked with GPON while having to pay more for it.

On average, GPON equipments cost more, requires higher transmit power and is more more difficult to maintain.

TM has banned ALU from tendering for future projects recently after the corruption scandal case.

As we know, they were the ones who supplied the GPON equipment in Putrajaya and Cyberjaya. Another white elephant project which flushed money right down the drain.
