1. root will not void the warranty
2. root will help you to uninstall the unwanted application
3. root will help you gain access to other country application

any other benefit?
any one know you will get "proxy" setting after root? now my wifi cant connect in company's wifi because of no proxy....

I think JD helps to preserve the battery during idle mode, meaning like put the phone to sleep.

When I wake my phone from idle, there's a noticeable lag at the start but after a while  it will run smooth.

Normal usage (gaming/browsing web/calling) will still drain the battery as usual.

Nonetheless, it is a great app  smile.gif

Well, the thing is, active usage is what really drains the battery. Helping save battery in idle mode, although nice, isn't really that a big deal, right?

I mean, look at my DHD, notorious for having bad battery life. But I took out my sim card and left it idle since Monday, and this morning it still has about 60 or 70% battery. So idle mode shouldn't consume much battery in the first place.

I don't know why all a ssudden the screen is flickering so bad. Is there any workaround for it? I tried to set the phone with varying brightness but it persist.

Been using my Arc for a few days now, no flickering.

How come some users are reporting screen flickering? It's odd.

It is noticeable if brightness is set to around 50% or below AND when you're in a room which is not very bright (single fluorescent light) AND when the screen is displaying mostly white content (e.g., Facebook)

Set the brightness to about 70% or more, and it won't be that bad.

If still fail, you might need to reformat your SD card and try again.

1. Backup all your SD card data to your laptop/PC and reformat.
2. Run Gingerbreak
3. Once rooted, transfer back your backup file from PC to your SD card.

Always try to freez the app first before attempting to remove the factory installed app, unless you know what are you doing. wink.gif

If u notice on battery use, Cell standby & phone idle could add up to as much as 40% sometimes! That's why when the phone is in idle (with sim inside), it will help to conserve the battery. Instead of dropping 1-2% per hour, it will drop maybe 2-3% only at night while we r sleeping & that make a difference.

Tried. It still won't work lol. Does the program automatically unmount the sdcard on first pressing root?? I am on a Kingston 16gb card btw.
