Bandmates and Band Seekers

[attachmentid=2142708]

Band: Serious band (My previous band is not serious therefore always change member and cannot progress)

1. state the instrument(s) you play: Drum

2. your influences/musical preferences: Wang Lee Hom, spice girls, metallica

3. looking for who: vocalist, bassist, guitarist

4. his/her influences/musical preferences: Not important

5. your requirements: Upper beginner as too pro will demotivate the band while too beginner will slow down the band. I am upper beginner level i think.

6. any other related requirements: Have money to jamming as my previous pop rock band rely on allowance so we only jam when have money and keep playing same 3 songs to refresh for 2 years. Able to play master of puppets as this is first song we will jam for first session.

4) location: Penang island.

This will give you an opportunity for anyone whose interested in starting a band among LYN members.

Cheers

Bravo Bro!  Nice drum playing video!  Very good technique and dynamics.  Nowdays very hard to find people who play Jazz like this.
A lot of drummers now play heavy metal, all play very hard & loud, without much dynamics.  A good drummer has many different
levels of dynamics flexibility able to adjust to their volume based on the music playing.

I learn a lot from Jared Falk - Drumeo about drum dynamics.  Watch the video.

I'm also a seasonal slow rock drummer, my favourite drummer - Omar Hakim.

Need to play loud cos live time guitar sound will cover drum if not hit hard.

The sound engineer only makes the instruments enhance its sound tonal quality.but in terms of volume no matter what level it is,it will depend on the player himself....ask any of our local pro musicians and they will say dynamics is the no.1 key

Ya I also think dynamic enhance the music but only applicable for recording. Last time I try to be dynamic but when jamming end up whatever dynamic I play the sound cover by electric guitar and I end up need hit louder to be able to be heard. I think guitar they play time the volume is standardd they cant dynamic by adjusting the volume throughout the song right?

Hahaha, he needs to learn more from Drumeo about Dynamics.

Last time when I started playing drums, I used to bang bang hard hard, so it sounds and looks cool, but after I learn from
Drumeo and other online drum lessons, I began to change and adjust to many playing styles.

I'm still learning a lot about playing drums, there's always new things to learn about drums.

Example, I'm still practicing my double stroke, Paradiddle fills, Independent limbs, Moller technique and other things.
