hi guys, need some advice here. I am currently working in Singapore and holding spass. My company needs 2 months notice period. I just got unhappy with our management and have been thinking of leaving.
I have got few job offers since feb but none of them is able to apply spass/ep successfully for me. But lately i am so fed up with our management style and cant wait to leave. Do u guys think i should just tender my resignation and look for new job in this two months?
My concern is that i dont get approved for my spass. but at the same time, not alot companies would wait for 2 months, somemore if i fail getting a pass, they r unwilling to take extra 3 weeks to appeal for me.
It really puts me in a difficult situation, I want to leave but I cannot leave without securing my future...

I would HIGHLY recommend that you should get your future's job E-Pass/S-Pass.....before you hand in your resignation. It's getting rejected before of the upcoming GE....maybe if u can...just hold on a little while longer....maybe max another 6months hopefully by then the GE would be over, then try to get the S-Pass/E-Pass appealed or apply it again.

Somehow MOM might get the idea that you're not serious in your job when you're job hoping so soon....just my opinion
Your other alternative would be to head back to MY to look for a job......

I think you better hold on to your job and keep searching until you find an employer that can apply EP pass for you. Just treat it as another life work experience. Who knows what awaits you in your next job? maybe better or it might be worse.
May I know which industry are u in ?

renovation and construction. Found few jobs but my spass/ep kept getting rejected.

same shit as u  bro.. wanna leave but afraid

errr, the customs there also got it think...

wait.. so if new company apply new ep, u have to go and get it right? but u gotta serve 2 months at ur old company... means in that 2 months u hold 2 ep?  rclxub.gif

i think so, but thats how the HRs do. they asked me to not tender first, wait till approved then resign.

im just afraid of not getting approved. I got higher chance of being employed if I start serving 2 months notice now..... sad.gif

some were really good and they were willing to wait for me 2 months just that MOM is always the main issue mad.gif

hi guys, just want to check and confirm, has anyone successfully apply SPass/EP for your new job while still holding your existing pass? means you are currently working and not yet resigned, but the new company apply the pass for you?

My spass will be expired in 2 months time. and i would like to try out my luck for PR now. Does Spass validity time affect PR application?
Shall I renew my spass first before applying for PR?

Do we need to sign the offer letter so that the employer can use that as supporting document to apply SP/EP for us?

yes you need to sign a form, that will be submitted to MOM for your pass application. it will state your company and other details also
*
yes i know. that is a form. but how about signed offer letter between two parties? is it a must-have document to apply pass?

nope.
the form already has your company details, your company will need to fill in certain portions too. that is already a proof of the company's intention to hire you..

your offer letter stays with you

I see. thank you. I am wondering is that because I did not have any offer letter which made my pass applications failed.
