if you care more about food than ur savings, then go penang

if you want to cari makan, earn money, then sg..
i just moved from penang to sg for a job.. working in penang, practically cannot have any savings..
need buy car, pay government, pay petrol, price keep going up.. all that versus the amount of average salary in penang... cannot make it..

also, if you're working, better not to quit off your job until you get confirmation that your pass is approved from MOM.

company wants to hire you doesn't mean MOM will approve you to work in sg
if you quitted, and your application gets rejected, then you're doomed
my sister went through hell for that experience

how many years of working experience you have?
2k+ is considered quite low.. but for a small company and for a fresh grad, you can try since it's not bonded

oh but 1year is not considered much also .. well maybe you can try looking at the benefits.. if overall is good, you can always take advantage of this job as a stepping stone. who knows if you reject this job offer, how long do you have to wait to get another job offer in singapore. as far as i know, it's not easy to get a job offer nowadays..


if your concern is not to resign before you get a job, not to worry..
if you're overseas, most probably they will arrange a phone interview/skype interview first. if they want you for 2nd interview only you'd travel to singapore for it.
most of the applicants have a job in hand, they will understand the inconvenience. we don't resign first and then look for a job. everything can be arranged, just take 1-2days leave when the time comes.

there are very few jobs that would give an interview that are out of malaysia, unless it's during the job fair.
go through singapore recruitment agents, that's the fastest

yes you need to sign a form, that will be submitted to MOM for your pass application. it will state your company and other details also

nope.
the form already has your company details, your company will need to fill in certain portions too. that is already a proof of the company's intention to hire you..

your offer letter stays with you

i don't know how you weigh the discrimination in malaysia versus singapore, there's also a huge difference in discrimination versus racism

yes we can live with discrimination in singapore, we truly understand why they hate malaysians.
due to our country's conflict in the past, malaysia expelled singapore seeing it as a burden. (in case you didn't know, singapore was expelled. it wasn't as in malaysia history you read)
now when their currency is doubled ours, hordes of malaysian move to singapore.
and they aren't getting any job offers because we are able to juggle about with an amount of salary which singaporeans think otherwise.
if i'm singaporean i would be ticked off too.

but in malaysia not only discrimination, we all have to live with extreme racism, corruption.. whatever you name it .. malaysia boleh..
singapore GE has just passed, we all lived peacefully, nothing much changed.
unlike the time during penang 2008 election, (oh yea opposition won ) where my parents forced me to stock up food at home..
we don't have to live like that in singapore you see..

we'll continue to work here, and you can continue to work in malaysia all you want,
if you feel that glorifies you..as a malaysian.. pls do so..

hi anyone here, when applying for EP, have to resign first ?

this is weird because my friend's application, he said he was asked to resign first, then only they're able to proceed with his application.
