MVC 15% means if your company not doing well, they have the right to lower your salary by max 15%

"MVC is a “standby” component to be used by employers to bring down wage costs in sudden
and severe business downturns to survive and save jobs. Monthly Variable Component ((MVC) forms part of monthly basic salary. It is to be included in computing overtime payment and CPF contribution."

Ask for a premium as you will be outside...As for me when I was working for a SG company they were paying a premium over the regular salary.

Ask for at least $500 at least but you should have reasons why.

I say you put out the price of $800 but anything above 400 is acceptable.

But the truth is you will be spending more as you are not a local there.

Your package is the expat package aka living the life of a rockstar.

If I could get my expat package I would run back to China in no time!!!

I have to see how much I can save per month, right? How many percent more than current monthly saving is worth going?

Since Singapore pays the highest salaries these days except for Tokyo, Seoul and maybe, just maybe Taipei... basing your Thai package on the equivalent Sg salary of that position is a good start.

If an equivalent person in that capacity earn S$5000 a month, that's a reasonable starting point. The employer CPF contributions should continue too.

On top of that, I would ask for a foreign hardship allowance... say S$100 per diem each day (ie. S$3000 per month). The higher/lower your base salary, you need to adjust the amount to reflect the seniority of your position. I think 50-75% of your Singapore salary is quite reasonable.

Lastly, demand for 100% tax protection in Thailand ie. you should not pay any Thai taxation. If they negotiate, don't go below the equivalent Singapore tax, as if you had earned that salary in Singapore. The foreign allowance must be made tax free to you.

Also, negotiate for things like settling in allowances (ie. a cash allowance to help you settle down eg. to buy stuff like electrical goods, pay deposits for phone/broadband etc, open bank accounts, buy car etc.) and golden handshakes (ie. if you leave the company while you're in Thailand, the company will compensate you). At the very least, the company needs to pay for you and all your belongings etc to be moved back to Singapore.

Tax will be covered by company, as I'm not pr, so company will not pay for the cpf. They will provide sgd 1 k allowance, and because of that they cannot offer me my last drawn basic salary.

They are providing you accomodation, food and transportation over there, if you ask more they might just give you the money but you have to settle your own housing, food etc.

Do you have family here? Yes then can ask for relocation fee or compensation etc. (it cost more than dollar and cent)
Can you rent out the place you stay? Yes then can rent out as extra income.
How many people in your company can easily replace you for the posting?

SG cost of living is higher than Thai, how can you say you need to spend more money there while most of the daily needs provided. Leaving SG will save you money more than what you are going to spend there. However, I am not surprise if a MNC will pay you more when you provide the same excuse.

It's a studio apartment, don't think I can rent out? I know even though I'm getting the same pay I'll save more than what I'm saving now, but I need to figure out how many percent more I can save is worth going.
It's new company not my current company

Anyone with any idea about Exxonmobil Singapore in Pulau Ayer Chawan? It is an integrated refinery and chemical plant in one complex? How is the working environment? Any information about this will be helpful. Thank you !

I don't know the SG market rate, but in Malaysia for O&G u can get more than sgd32000x2.4=rm7680 with 5years experience..
*
You cannot convert and compare in this way, if you work in sg you will spend in sgd not rm, rm to sgd salary should be around 1:1, I mean the figure..
When I moved to sg from kl 2 years ago, I got 20% increment look at the figure not after conversion.
Your 5 years experience related to shipyard? If you got 3 years related experience, you will get that than 3200
