QUOTE(deodorant @ Jun 18 2011, 10:54 PM) Oo I went to Expo just now to check out the Courts sale. Since I've only been in SG a few weeks maybe I haven't got a proper "sense" of the strength of SGD, but a lot of things there seem damn cheap leh. $10 irons, $3xx 32" LCD TVs, $2k 47-inchers, etc etc. This is why Singaporeans are getting richer and richer whereas Malaysians over here are getting poorer and poorer these days.Too bad I dun have apartment yet so couldn't really buy ... |

Anyone here thinking of investing in a condo or apartment in SG?
I feel that if you have the free funds, ie $70K or $80K for downpayment, can try to invest in some properties in SG as the properties prices in SG appreciates faster than MY. Having said that, if you are eligible in buying a HBD, then it would be better. |

You've already made it as clear as clear can be. These people are typical attitude M'sian. Expect everthing to be handed to them on a silver platter. The world dosen't work that way. Why are u here in this forum if you reluctant to share and discuss? |

QUOTE(deodorant @ Jun 25 2011, 09:23 AM) if any of you have friends working in stanchart, get them to apply the singtel iphone plan for you. it's $34/mth for free incoming, 500outgoing mins, 12gig data, 500sms, 2 year contract & iP4 32gb free. each staff can apply 3 lines/phones. Wow, you working in Standchart?i dunno how singtel makes any money off this seeing as the iP4 32gb is $1k+ off the apple store ($34x24 = $816). Indirectly, i can assume that anyone who joins stanchart will be awarded a new iphone... Any other companies have this kind of benefits? I dont think these kind of benefits even exist in companies in Malaysia. |

QUOTE(seantang @ Jun 25 2011, 10:39 AM) Definately, you need to compare to companies with the same salaries and environment offered. If both Tan Ah Beng Pte Ltd and Standchart pays you the same, environment almost identical, both have ample opportunity for career progression and areas to learn and explore, definately you will choose Standchart. |

How bout this Singtel plan?
![]() Monthly fee at $95 and SGSII at $0.00 Free 500 mins per mth Free 500 sms per mth Free 12GB plan per mth I do some calculations. $95 x 24 mths = $2280 $2280 - free handset of $800 = $1480 $1480 / 24 mths = $62 per mth (which I think is a pretty standard cost for using a data plan in SG) I think it is still very very much better than Maxis, DiGi or Celcom plans in Malaysia?? Correct me if I am wrong. What do you think guys? |

i am not sure what's your field of studies or areas of expertise is. It is regretted to say most of the employers nowadays will give priority to Singaporean or PR residents first before considering Malaysians. Meanwhile, is your applications all based in city or downtown area? Maybe you could try to apply to companies based in Tuas, Changi or Woodlands areas as most city jobs will normally be taken-up by Singaporeans or PR itself. |

QUOTE(tayhaithian @ Jun 28 2011, 07:19 PM) According to my friend who work as Agency in SG before, what he said is that the field like IT, Accounting and Engineering would be the easiest to find job in SG even though you are a foreigner this does include Malaysian. Yup i agreed but ppl still prefer Singaporean or PR, this is why I ask him/her to try to search around Tuas Comapnies, there are tons of companies and opportunities in this area.Otherwise his/her resume got to have something wrong or his/her reason for leaving his/her previous company is not strong enough. |
