Go to Samsung showroom at Vivocity. I bought my Tab there on launch day as well, despite it supposedly being a telco-exclusive launch.

Added on June 24, 2011, 11:03 amTrue, my logic is that if I'm out of Ipoh, doesn't matter if it's KL, SG, HK etc. I'm still simply away from home.

Added on June 24, 2011, 11:04 amIf you like not having to ask Steve Jobs for permission to do everything, you'll enjoy it.

Added on June 24, 2011, 11:05 amI absolutely agree.

Added on June 24, 2011, 11:07 amWith the current and upcoming Android devices, it's going to be a pretty good fight. Apple will always have its base market of irrational people who like being shafted.

Added on June 24, 2011, 11:09 amIf it comes one day, I'll welcome it. But I won't go stand in bars buying free drinks looking for it. Besides, the effect of marriage (and kids) is that your savings limit simply needs to be much higher.

Added on June 24, 2011, 11:14 amI give away my old phones to my brother and cousins in Ipoh.

you are very good la care ur brother, so ur expectation seems very high to find Ms.Right although you have 6 figure income? I believe you will be easy to get brides la.

Android phones are not "jailed" in the first place. App developers can produce whatever the heck apps they want. Loads of free apps too. Most free apps are practically the same as paid versions due to the advertising.

Having said that, you can "root" the phone to gain access to developer or manufacturer options. For instance, I am considering rooting the Tab in order to manually control the clock speed of the processor.
*
Once you root your Android phone, you will lose the warranty?

Would like to know the usual availability of Sunday afternoon/evening's bus from KL to Singapore. Are they usually sold out?

I've got myself an interview on coming Monday. Most prob taking Sunday evening bus to Singapore.

15k SGD if I am not mistaken.
Higher than that, you will have to declare.

Thanks bro. smile.gif

Singapore immigration. u need to declare if u are carrying more than 30k SGD
Malaysia Immigration. u need to declare if u are carrying more than 10k USD

your question doesn't make sense. I can carry 100000000zillion into Malaysia or SG in cash as long as i can declare where they come from.

I stopped drinking falvoured milk due to excess sugar they put in those things. I usually buy low fat or full cream but not flavored.

Btw is marche buffet really that nice? Tried the normal servings at marche and i found that nearly everything except the meat tasted of mushrooms.

@tht my EP took about 7 (calendar) days for MOM to come back to me with some questions, then another 7 (calendar) days to issue me my IPA.

Anyway ... as part of relocation, the company provided me accomodation til 1st July. And the apartment I'm going to rent, can only move in on 7th July. So I was like OK no probs, I'll just bunk in a cheap place for a week, made bookings & everything.

Then suddenly today got this email ...

QUOTE
As our management have decide to close the hotel for renovations from july onwards. As such,we are unable to accept your reservation for the period you requested. We like to thank you for your support and wish you a pleasant day.

whaffffffffffark last minute close down?!? now gotta do last minute arranging place to stay mad.gif

my experience on the other side of the recipient, the employer side looking at what they receive then you will know how tough it is.
my experience with jobstreet system (SIVA) sometime back is that, they will list the nearest match to employer listed requirement , like grad, salary and experience
the nearest match will be at top, so if u a fresh grad without experience u be below the list. For a manager / avp post is a 70-100 daily application, lowest i seen is 50 sweat.gif .

the problem is u have tonnes of related / unrelated people applying, some who want to change industries, some with great passion but no paper, everybody have different motivation, and the list go on .. ,not easy to digest everybody cv.. some just got ignore, decided later leave it to the Headhunter to do it, too time consuming.

suggest u can try to use linkedin to try to network to the co u want to work with, know some Headhunter search their candidate there. rolleyes.gif

i am not sure what's your field of studies or areas of expertise is.

It is regretted to say most of the employers nowadays will give priority to Singaporean or PR residents first before considering Malaysians.

Meanwhile, is your applications all based in city or downtown area?

Maybe you could try to apply to companies based in Tuas, Changi or Woodlands areas as most city jobs will normally be taken-up by Singaporeans or PR itself.

According to my friend who work as Agency in SG before, what he said is that the field like IT, Accounting and Engineering would be the easiest to find job in SG even though you are a foreigner this does include Malaysian.
