QUOTE(crazy25kid @ Jun 9 2011, 12:38 PM) Qualify does not mean you will get it. not really, i have a lot of friends getting more than 2.5k salary still holding S pass.A lot of ppl qualify as PR but still did not get it. 2.2 is S-pass as mentioned. The pass is more towards salary based. You want an e-pass, demand higher pay or just suck up and accept and improve yourself to qualify for a better pay. my aunty getting more than 2.5k salary also but only holding WP. how do you explain? i would say it would be base on qualification. coz most of those S pass holder doesn't have a degree and my aunty only SPM. |

Actually,
Ministry of Manpower set 2.5k for EP or 2k for S-Pass.. In reality, how many company really pay up to that amount? Some practice is when they (company) help you apply for EP / SP, they will key in 2.5k for EP / SP 2k , to get the approval from Ministry for your pass. A lot of small / medium company do that.. One of my colleague, Malaysian Work Permit holder, salary more than 3k exclude commission.. He wanted to get SP also can't because qualification its only SPM.. Applied more than 3 times and give up at the end.. Can't convince the MOM officer at all to get SP or EP... My opinion is education and salary will contribute 50:50 for your SP or EP approval. Added on June 9, 2011, 2:14 pmAnd for those that have good qualification in international school.. You might try to apply for EPEC before come to sg and find a job.. It will be bonus for you whenever you're selected for the job. EPEC Application System Submit picture, your highest qualification (international recognize school/college/uni), passport and etc. Good Luck This post has been edited by danny_ptlm: Jun 9 2011, 02:14 PM |

QUOTE(venicelim @ Jun 9 2011, 09:08 AM) P and Q passes are considered E pass. oh, got it. lol. Thanks Thanks. Working night shift, brain hardly can work. http://www.mom.gov.sg/foreign-manpower/pas...es/default.aspx There are 3 types of Employment pass >> P1, P2 and Q1. Added on June 9, 2011, 9:10 am That means working permit cant apply PR? Since there are only P, Q, and S pass holder mentioned in the application. Berjaya Air operates from Budget Temrinal. |

QUOTE(paranoid @ Jun 9 2011, 02:38 PM) I believe even with a comfortable coach, you will still feel uncomfortable as the journey is too long from SG to the Jetty. This is why I opt to fly there instead of by road. |

Thanks but flight is not an option due to time constraint for diving.Anyway, Penang to KT is also about 9 hours and we have done that a few times. Heck, I was in even in the bus from Penang to Sg for 12+ hours. This post has been edited by crazy25kid: Jun 9 2011, 04:14 PM |

QUOTE(paranoid @ Jun 9 2011, 05:35 PM) to be exact, it's 16hours I think that only applies to jets flying long haul at high altitudes. If you're flying to these resort islands, most likely you're flying turbo props like the ATR-72 etc. Their service ceiling is much lower. They are not even designed to manage any decompression problems, for eg. no double plate glass or oxygen masks. |

QUOTE(paranoid @ Jun 9 2011, 05:35 PM) to be exact, it's 16hours I last took a bus back to my hometown (Kuantan, KT is ~200km away) late 2009.if i take night bus > reach there morning > then take boat to island > i can dive already if i take night flight > reach KT airport at night > wont have a place to sleep, and i can only dive the following day around evening already (if 16hours from midnight) if take morning flight > no need say already... 16hours lol It takes ~8 hours to reach just my hometown. KT is a good 2.5 to 3 hours away. Take note that there is no highway and the roads are all trunk roads (single lane, no road divider and pretty windy) all the way. Not a very comfortable journey and pretty exhausting if you are a light sleeper for overnight journey. Do not expect the journey to be anything like the aeroline buses on west coast. Just setting the expectations here. |
