Given that (5,h) is a solution of the simultaneous equation h(x-y) = x+y-1 = hx^2-11y^2.

a)value of h. (ans. h=2)
b) other solution of the equations. (ans. x=-1/7, y=2/7)

i already gt the answer for a, which is h=2. I gt so confused when i tried to answer question b by replacing h with 2. Can any1 solve the problem?

When h = 2,
2(x-y) = x+y-1 = 2x^2-11y^2

Then, solve
2(x-y) = x+y-1
x+y-1 = 2x^2-11y^2

Just solve 2(x-y)=x+y-1 and x+y-1=2x^2 - 11y^2 and then you will get 2 solutions which are (5,2) and (1/7,2/7). You should pick the latter one.
