Rm210 for the replacement part and rm60 labour by joven.
But I also payed extra to my plumber to do some modifications to add couplings to the pipe as recommended by the joven technician so that any maintenance will be easier in the future.
I think the charges are quite reasonable. The controller lasted me almost 2.5 years. So, excluding the cost of my own plumbing works this translates to rm9 a month of. Rm270/30 months..like a maintenance fees. Of course your mileage might vary.
Hope the controller lasts me another hopefully 3 years, then I will just change the part again as long as the pump motor is still working. No need to waste money buying a new pump. Grundfos is very expensive.
Yes I think you’re right . I can’t check the pressure cause it is on the roof but I found one toilet with unclosed tap . Turn it off and seems to be quiet now . Darn I think my electricity just went up a notch due to the constant operation past few days
That's y it's better to have a switch to turn it on or off. Only on when need to use it like during shower time
Hi all experts, I'm staying in New area elmina, recently just installed a grundfos CM3-4 pump, had a bad experienced with the plumber, they bought the wrong fitting and pump outlet burst to room, and leave water mark on the parcel Ceiling and the room is all wet! Just wonder is this kind installation whether is fit or safe or not.
After that they replace the fitting. Thanks guys
Lets compare to mine. I not saying mine is any better btw
See yourself and judge.
the grey PVC is the new part. Black piping is original from developer.

For those who like to know more about pump installation, can have a look at this video
May I know why use the bypass source from the main water supply and not from the tank? Coz I find that once the main water supply travel to 2nd floor, the pressure drop lower than if it's bypass direct source from tank.
Some of this water heater got flow restrictor. I notice Joven water heater has this. I guess it's to control the volume of water coming into the system so not to exceed the flowrate
ya, that's what i afraid as well. stagnant too long maybe harmful with bacteria grown inside.
will ask contractor to get me water from main pipe in the kitchen just for drinking water use.
thanks.
One downside to having direct supply for drinking water is when no water that time, your only source of drinking water with a pou water filter is gone too.
I just installed scala2 in my new house with bypass as well. The pressure now with bypass quite good already without turning on the pump.
Also, the pump sometimes on and off on and off.. the installer said might have some small leaking somewhere. So is it ok if i just turn my water pump on when only i want to use it?
Btw my area still not many people, probably thats why the main pressure still strong.
If it's me I will try to find the source of the leak n fix it if possible. Might turn out to be an easy fix
I have finally gone through 64 pages of reading on this Grundfos thread. I have a problem which I cannot totally brain.
My water tank is on the 5th floor of the apartment and my unit is on the 3rd. Problem is the water outlet from the water tank to my unit needs to climb over the wall and according to the contractor/plumber, there is a much higher risk of air trap when the water level in the tank runs lower than the tank outlet which supply water to two bathrooms. Means, the 'climbing' can cost a lot of problems. He said when there is air trap, there will be no water flow from my pipe as it will be blocked. He asked me to instal water pump which costs RM1800. He said, water pump can draw out the air trapped in the pipe so water flow to the bathrooms will be normal again. Is this true?
The water tank area is a common area where all water tanks to other units are also located. If I need to install water pump, I don't think I can install it next to my tank. Would it make sense to install the pump in my balcony which is on the 3rd floor then? Hope to hear from you all so I know if there is a real solution to my problem. [attachmentid=10595276] The two bathrooms only using normal instant water heater. Only 2 adults in the house. Thanks!
Probably cheaper to just make a hole through the wall.
Anyone knows if i can tap the water pump power to either the water heater/ aircond / lights outlet? Its because my water pump wiring nearest exit is near one of the bedroom.
i think u can do it with water heater or aircon outlet but not light outlet.
Hi there, I bought a Scala2 in Dec 2022. It can send water to my direct piped fixture but is not able to work well with my roof top tank. Each time I use the garden tap, the bathroom flush or tap that are connected to the roof top tank, Scala2 will show leakage error. I was told that SCALA2 just is not suitable for roof top tank as it's a pressure pump that will be confused by the roof tank's inlet float arm moving up and down while water is being filled up. I have been advised to use either SCALA1 or cmb3-5 pt pump together with float sensor that's based on water level rather than pressure.
May I know how you configured your SCALA2 to work with roof storage tank?
Have u try to slow down the fill up of the tank. In my case on unrelated issue, I can slow down the tank refill quite significantly, almost to off position without any issue of water running out. There is 3 adults in my house. The tank will just slowly refill throughout the day.
anyone have experience with GI piping and installing with water pump ?
because old parent house with old GI piping scare after install water pump will cause leakages
with old house safer i think to use a water heater with built in pump. if it really burst if u install tank side pump, the repair cost might cause additional headache. jst my 2 cents
