Trust me, water pump is best you can see, to prolong the lifespan, you need to prime, clean the suction filter every now and then.

Are you sure our water are really clean? Think again.
You may get an outdoor filter that can produce you pure H2O, which later will promote mosquito and algae growth.
Aedes like clean water very much, algae will block the pipe.
Getting the standard sand filter, you still can get some dirt break through which will do the same damage to the pump.
Installer want to install in hidden place is to ensure it fail faster which gives them potential business.
