If you have photos, can snap and share here for us to c and advise. Photos of the pump, the piping and etc, further angle for us to see the installation.

also check at the controller got LED light or not.

Grundfos has 2 years warranty, if more than 2 years then can get my technician to fix, cheaper than grundfos

Thanks for the quick getting back . PM you as well !

Hi all experts, I'm staying in New area elmina, recently just installed a grundfos CM3-4 pump, had a bad experienced with the plumber, they bought the wrong fitting and pump outlet burst to room, and leave water mark on the parcel Ceiling and the room is all wet!
Just wonder is this kind installation whether is fit or safe or not.

After that they replace the fitting.
Thanks guys

Lets compare to mine. I not saying mine is any better btw laugh.gif

See yourself and judge.

the grey PVC is the new part. Black piping is original from developer.

fittings are rated for the pressure the pump can handle..........as long as there are fitted right.

what's the function of the pipe in picture 1? why leave it open?
not sure what you are trying to show with picture 2.

some stuff i don't like :
1. no mains to house system bypass
2. is the T connection and the connection to the pump inlet correct size? the hdpe pipe seem to be 25mm diameter......the hensen T seem to be 20mm diameter.......not sure about the size of the connection at the pump inlet....seem small. by right should be of same size from tank to pump.
3. no check valve between tank and pump

never heard of this brand, google search for more info, it is CThardware own in house brand. So it is OEM in china

"CT Hardware’s affordable yet reliable mantra, the Welflo brand booster pumps is part of our in-house brand" copied from website
https://www.cthardware.com/blog/welflo-booster-pumps/

To compare grundfos with Weflo is like saying Proton is as good as Mercedes but cheaper price smile.gif

been surveying for water pump for my double story terrace house. 3 bathrooms with normal shower head. tank and pump to be located on ground floor, at the back of the house.

was recommended these 3 pumps
1. Ebara AM 8
2. Grundfos CM3-5PM1
3. Gemini EDP240PC

May i know what is the best way to compare spec? Is it by max head at same flow rate or max pressure or rated kW?

I was told that Gemini is with composite impeller, is this in anyway better than SS type?

Price difference between Ebara and Grundfos option is RM400 (Grundfos more exp). Any recommendations on which to choose?

My old house used Ebara before long time ago, remember it got to be quite noisy then one day it died so I sent for repair, the pump came back super quiet. Not sure it's just normal wear and tear that made it get more noisy over the years or not.

Been told that Gemini is made in Italy but i kinda doubt it. Any one know where were these pumps made in? Not that it matter much but just so I know whether shop can be trusted or not. Haha

Any contractor can help me to install a booster pump at setapak area? Is a condo. Please pm me the price. The scope of works inclusive tapping a power supply from the nearrst room, tap from the existing 13A switch socket outlet, provide a on/off switch, supply 3 core armoured cable (approx. 15 to 20 feet), install the booster pump c/w pipe works. Pipe materials class E uPVC at least. Is it better to use HDPE pipe? The power supply is tapping from the room behind the wall of the water filter position (involve drilling to extend out the wiring). Refer to the attached photo. I had got the approval from condo management for this installation. Pump to be supplied by me. Pm me the installation price. Thanks ya.

grundfos is internationally well known for low noise, durability and powerful. For 3 normal shower heads u can actually get CM3-4pm1, however if u love strong pressure can get CM3-5pm1 as well since price difference is only RM 30.

Stainless steel impeller is definitely better than composite in terms of durability and noise level.

compare EBARA AM8 VS Grundfos CM3-5pm1

If u r looking for pressure, compare the head
39.7m (ebara) vS 46m (grundfos)

so is about 3.9 bar pressure vs 4.5 bar

energy consumption Ebara is 600watt vs Grundfos 500watt. Grundfost is more energy saving.

However, many customers like to compare HP (horse Power) which i think is not accurate, u need to compare Flow & Head not HP.
Since Grundfos is more energy Saving, kW is lower, hence HP is also lower as well but the HEAD (PRESSURE) is higher = stronger.

HP = kW x 1.34. So Ebara will b 0.8hp while grundfos 0.67hp, however in actual spec grundfos is stronger. Hence it is not accurate to judge a pump by HP or KW

How much is the EBARA pump? i tried to google online cant find pricing, grundfos is RM 1330 by my shop

Hi guys,
I am planning to install water heater at master bedroom toilet, as it is the only toilet in use everyday

My house is a 2 1/2 storey terrace, almost 20 years old. Water pressure is very low at master bedroom toilet (top floor), so planning to install booster pump together

My concern is:
- if i install water pump, Will there be any risk of pipe leak? 70% of houses in my area already bypass to outdoor piping to water tank as they said their original piping has clogged/leaked. Didnt asked exact reason why, but my house still using original piping until now, and my house do not have any booster pump yet
- can i use water heater with rain showe head? Will the pressure be good enough? Was rcommended by the promoter in HomePro, booster pump brand Kawa, 0.75hp, RM700++ exclude installation

there is a risk but u cant tell until u install the pump, wan something reliable and affordable, TERAL (japanese brand) most cheaper pumps are actually OEM in China but they put GERMANY or Japan or Italy which is very misleading.

If u google Teral Japan, u can c their HQ and factory, really japanese brand. HQ & factories listed as per website. Truly japanese technology
https://www.teral.net/e/corporate/overview/

I tried google Kawa, all source from malaysia only hence i assume it is malaysia brand import from china and rebranding. From their catalog it says JAPAN technology, misleading. Cant even find their website to check on more info.

Hi guys, seeking advise.

I got a 1000litre stainless steel water tank at ground floor and 500litre PE water tank on top of the roof.
Suffering from very low water pressure due to my house a bit higher (hill side) and 3rd floor toilet rain shower totally no pressure.

My plumber suggests installing installing Grundfos after the ground floor water tank.
Grundfos will be pumping water pressure to all the rain shower and also the roof PE water tank.
PE water tank will be used for normal toilet bowl and tap water.

Is this the best method?

yup, ur plumber suggestion is right. TO save cost, get the pump yourself as plumber usually mark up 20% profit for the pump, only pay for his labour fee. U may get his price for the pump and compare with my selling price to know how much u can save

depending on how u install the pump, budget got budget way to install (just connect in and out), professional got their method and additional fittings as well (bypass, non return valves, stainless steel union and stainless steel ball valves). Where u purchase the pump. u usually u hire their ppl to install or your contractor, then u can ask them in detail how they gonna install it also what is included.

sample photos as shared by winsontay & white lighter above is a RM 300 vs RM 550 job

Hi

I had 2 Scala 2 units installed one after the other given they kept breaking down, in a similar setup as described above ie after water tank to pump to smaller tank in the roof.

Now my second unit is also sounding like it is going to stop working.. very loud sound. Does anyone have any idea of a better pump to use? I picked the scala as it is an outdoor unit but i have it installed in the main gate pillar which is hollow so maybe an indoor unit is also ok?

Any suggestions is much appreciated as i dont want to keep claiming warranty every 9 months....

Thanks!
