Wait, what is rooting? (I'm total nooobbbb  cry.gif )
Hmm. what is sme? i bought the original one i think, only te phone, no data package or so whatever..
Is Data plan is like BIS for BB? use internet but dont charge by the data used, but charged weekly?

Rooting is just something like jailbreaking the iOS (iPhone). Just installing a custom ROM into the phone, some custom ones will eat the batteries more than usual, at times.

hmm.gif I'm also a newbie in Android world as my friends all use iOS, I usually do the jailbreaking for them, hence more used to iOS, but I still prefer Android. So my question is.. Let's say I upgraded my Galaxy Y currently 2.3.6 to ICS 4.0; can it be downgraded? hmm.gif

How do I disable those apps running in background (that keeps popping out despite being closed by force) 'permanently' [more like, it only runs when I run it] ?

I have apps like WhatsApp, PowerAMP and Email that keeps running in background despite being killed for 99999 times.

Last night just before sleep, I was just surfing Fb/Twitter on my phone. Now I turn on the WiFi, it is connected to my internet but it's sorta, not authenticated. IDK why. There's two 'levels' for my WiFi, first 'level' it connects, that's when the WiFi icon is all grey colour. And when I can surf using the WiFi (which is 'level' 2), the icon will turn blue which indicates good to go.

Now it's all grey only doh.gif wtf

Added on September 30, 2012, 1:08 pmRemoving WiFi password didn't help. Checked the network for IP conflict, negative. GAHHHHHHHHH WTF. My sister's phone works just fine. My laptop is now on WiFi all ok je. Only my phone. Do I need to factory reset? :/

Edit : nvm. Ignore. I am buying a new phone. Threw phone to the wall and it died. :/

backup everything and factory reset lo, got type wrong password?

serious you threw it?
*
Honestly, I can't back up anything one. Last I backed up before factory reset, I lost all my messages (incl important ones). Is there a way to fully back up everything? I use the software that came with the phone (Kies) and that's what it did not back up (messages). The only thing I backed up was contact and .... I think that's all.

Yes I threw it. Can switch on but WiFi still cannot use. This is why I hate devices, cannot rely on at all. Night before working perfectly, next morning can't even use.

Hi guys, Idk if this is the right thread to ask in but I want to root my Xperia J. problem is, when I try to root, it asks for device encryption password and it will restore data. If I hit "Restore" that means I will lose all my data+games? unsure.gif and I can't use PC Companion to backup anything like contacts and... well other stuffs in the phone. need help! icon_question.gif

I have rooted my phone using an app. It was so simple laugh.gif

Firstly, let me say I do not know about Xperia J at all. I am speaking based on what I know about my old phone. You have to move some apps or whatever you have downloaded, if you can, to the external memory card (if there is) to make space, otherwise it is what is stated...your phone memory is full. Then, you have to delete some downloaded apps to make way for the new ones you want.

Will try that. Thanks
