hello everybody..been googling around and none of them talking the question bared in my mind

im a in a jump from windows mobile phone to an android phone..

as far as i know, BBM requires that you are connected to a blackberry internet service (BIS).do android phones support BIS to get BBM?

and do they need special 'hardware' integrated in it? scared if it need to ' hardwarely upgrade' before BBM can be functioned..so its better to have a WAIT for that phones instead of buying android now..

p/s>> and i know, we can use a cross-platform chatting application like Whatsapp that works the same way as BBM.

QUOTE
One of the issues I’ve always had with the iPhone is its notification system. Basically, it depends upon a single system that not all applications have access too. For instance, if you are a Twitterer, you can find out if you have updates only by opening the Twitter app on the iPhone. With Android, the apps have access to the notification system and can all report. The notification bar on the Android phone can alert you to new voice messages, email messages, Facebook notifications, new Gmail, new text messages, and much more. If an app has a notification, it can let you know quickly, and in the background.

Immediate push or notification if there is new stuff coming in. As far I can say, Gmail, Gtalk, is superb. I always on both Gtalk on my pc and IS. I received both pm at the same time. Should be the same with another app.

sadly enough contact sending via sms is not natively supported by android.

One advantage is lurking in hacking websites like XDA is that the devs there develop apps for common use too. Here's a relatively fresh app that does what I think you're looking for.

Do you have any friends using Whatsapp? Try asking them if they can see you or not.

Anyone knows how to fix this? My phone works well while connecting to my home WIFI. But when I go outside and connected to open network (example WIFI at McDonalds) I always got this error message 'Error fetching data. Not trusted server certificate', I can't browse webpage and use apps like Facebook at all.

AFAIK, only way to remove is to factory data reset. You're talking about google account, right? Coz twitter or facebook can remove easily.

why do firmwares need to be separated by region? asia/europe/soandso. why not just make one?

If by firmware you mean RUU,

firmwares are region coded because they contain radios specific to a region. Like an Asian ROM would have a radio best suited for the Asia region (even Asia ROM also can be sub-divided into ROMs for each country, like HK, S'pore, Taiwan etc to name a few common ones). Not that an European ROM wouldn't work in Asia, just maybe the radio performance might not be the best the manufacturer thinks it can be.

And some regional RUUs are carrier specific, meaning it contains carrier specific bundled softwares.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
