This Acura NSX is all alone in the big bad world, left next to some dumpsters to rot. Well, it can't actually rot since it's all aluminum, so like other supercars left to die across the Arabian peninsula, it's decorating yet another forsaken Dubai development.
Our fruitless detective work so far revealed that the early pop-up headlight NSX has been there for at least six months, and even the Dubai Police have no idea who the owner is. The absolutely pristine interior features contrasting stitching, an option that was only offered from 1992, as was the yellow paint. Apart from the 17-inch OZ wheels, everything on the car is completely original, while a quick look underneath says that all seems true down there too. We've no idea whether it ever came with that bespoke luggage or not.

It's a proper five speed car instead of the pansy four-speed auto (a six-speed tranny only came in 1997 with the bigger 3.2-liter unit), but even though we can't see the mileage, the telltale wear on the shift lever, steering wheel and pedals is minimal.

We've knocked on doors, interrogated security guards and left countless notes (which continuously disappear, being replaced by other people's ambitious notes), but six months down the line this awesome NSX still hasn't found an owner. Will it be a Jumeirah Village stray for life, or will it end up at a police auction? We don't know, though one thing's for sure; it's by far the coolest piece of landscaping in this massive Dubai construction site they call a community.

Considering the remarkable condition of this early-to-mid-90s supercar (easily worth between $30,000-$40,000 depending on condition and mileage), it's positively sinful for its potential final resting place to be a gap next to a bunch of dumpsters.

NSX average sales drop to few hundred units per year until 2005 with the total sales of 18,000 units in 15 years production while the current Porsche 997 sold 100,000 units in 2 years.

if you own money in dubai, you better run away, because you can go to jail there if cannot pay back.

yes, there no such things as blacklist there, straight to jail, but normally on Emirates His Highness birthday he just pay the debt and release you

these expats works on big ong or infra company, and i think the NSX is very cheap there

2,632 abandoned cars confiscated in Dubai

The number of abandoned cars confiscated by Dubai Municipality (DM) has increased 14 per cent in the past year from 2313 in 2009 to 2632 cars, according to Emarat Al Youm.

Abdul Majeed Sifaee, Director of waste department of the DM told the daily “The Dubai Municipality will replace the kind of notice that is currently used to warn the car owners with another kind which can be stuck on the car’s windshield and hence difficult to remove.” The move comes in the wake of repeated complaints from owners of abandoned cars.

He added that the DM monitors suspected abandoned cars for 15 days before any action is taken to check if they are truly abandoned. After that the DM puts a notice on the car for 15 days for the owners to respond or face legal action. After the deadline is over, if there is a plate number the DM checks with the police authorities - if they want to confiscate and if not the utility firm removes it from the public street.

Cars confiscated by Dubai Municipality are taken to the scrap yard in Al Qusais, where they are kept for six months. If the owner fails to claim the car within this period, the municipality auctions the car.

In 2010, 778 cars were claimed by owners while 923 cars were claimed in 2009, said Sifaee.

Car owners have to pay around Dh700 to get their vehicles released. In 2010, the Dubai Municipality collected Dh545,000 in fines, and in 2009 a total of Dh646,000 was collected.

Those people retrenched and got no more work all abandon their investments/properties in Dubai cabut lor.

Dubai besides luxury good, if you run out of money better that's the end.

The whole city is now heavily driven by debt and many have lost their jobs due to the dying dream economy.

prelude died first. the nsx went out of production i think last year or 2 years back only. prelude died in 2001 i think.
