When going overseas, do you guys call the CS and inform that you will be using your cc at which country and during which period? i have been practising this, but i wonder if it a common practice and necessary?

I went to a Maybank branch today to register a M2U account for my cards, but couldnt managed to link them all in a single account since I do not have a SACA with them. Gen-X in his blog has managed to link his though. hmm.gif

Anyway, as I was exploring my M2U of my visa account, I discovered that there is an option to make payments to bills such as TM, TNB using Visa. I didnt recall reading anyone mentioned about this before, only know about OUB online payment. For those with experience of paying bills using CC through M2U, is there any extra charges? smile.gif

Try to call their SC or read through the T&C about clearing your installment payment to check if there is any fee.

Just an update. I went to the same branch again and told the officer that one of the forumer here managed to linked all his card from a branch in N. Sembilan. So he contacted that branch and was informed that that was the only case they managed to solve, and after that cant anymore rclxub.gif Not sure if the officer there is being coy or not-lah. So upon confirmation that it is possible to link all cards, the officer at my branch attempted several times again and voila, it's succesful. So yeah, I am happy rclxms.gif

SCB AF waiver is not automatic if I recall correctly. You need to call in to get the waiver.
Waiver is up to the discretion of the bank and they'll look at the transactions performed on this card and your payments. It is not based on frequency of usage.

Hi, I have an outstanding balance of 1400 under my CIMB cc. I have received the monthly statement and it is due on next week. Checking from CimbClicks, today I received a refund of 1800 for a previous purchase (credited to my cc). My question is, can I choose not to settle the 1400 and let the 1800 contra it instead? Since the statement in already out, I am unsure whether this will work. Thanks.

Hi, the balance shown online is indeed negative with RM0 amount overdue. So this should be on the safe side. The thing that made me unsure at first was, when I clicked 'pay statement balance', the amount shown is still RM1400. Will see what happens a day after the due date. Thanks again.

I called CIMB CS to inquire about servicing my installment payment in full and since I was already on the line, I decided to inquire about the matter above as well. According to her, the refund is not considered as payment in the system and cant be used to contra the balance. So luckily I made the inquiry and was able to pay a day before the due date. So whenever in doubt on any matter, like Hye has pointed out, it is better to called up the CS for clarification.

p/s
No RM50 penalty for servicing the installment earlier as the deal was not with CIMB itself, but with Elken. Will appear in the next statement and then only the refund can be used to contra the balance. Just nice before I cancel my CIMB cc wink.gif

Hmm, maybe the cashback and points will only appear in the final statement. not updated in the online banking yet.

On another note, I just found out in my last statement that my cimb cc also no point for petrols..after 3 years of usage rclxub.gif
