QUOTE(celciuz @ Apr 6 2011, 09:15 AM) If a 16.2MP crop sensor can do this, a 16.2MP FX sensor will do it much better one question though. why would anyone want to shoot at 3200 or 12800? well, for those who shoot at those iso (at least oftenly or constantly) me unless emergency i will go to 3200 (since it's emergency so noise level is not something that i care) if not, maximum is 400 only. heck, the hasselblad H4D that i am trying now can go up to 200 max. lol |

QUOTE(are_yee @ Apr 7 2011, 08:45 AM) Guys, wanna ask also, how do i know the camera is which of the above? which one is good? Local set? warranty card should be issued by Nikon (Malaysia) and not some self printed warranty (shop own warranty)because i want to buy nikon d7000 and i got one shop and he selling it at RM4100, wondering also does it cheap means its grey set cause im asking him, he said is malaysia warranty, how im gonna make sure its not 2nd hand item? and is there other method than check the SC? and give me the tips of list check when buy new dslr camera.. Thanks or, give nikon centre a call to ask whether that particular shop that you are about to get the camera from is an authorised dealer or not. as for second hand, do check the condition of the camera. new and mint condition has a huge difference. there should be a clear sticker on the LCD screen. etc etc... i am not so worried about things like this actually. i am more worried about the accessories that you are being forced to buy. filter for rm 200. memory card for rm 100. and stuffs like that. some sellers even tell you that there is currently no stock and will advice you to place a deposit of rm 200 (non refundable) then when the camera arrives, they will say oh nikon raise the price to rm 4400 etc. i have even come across sellers who took out the battery and charger and tell the buyers that the camera do not come with these 2 items and ask the buyer to pay rm 500 for these 2 items. some will exchange the original battery to a fake/OEM battery. man, i have loads of stories like this from my students. but biasa lah. students kena cheat. |

nikon centre have a list of authorised nikon dealer.
ask them. but usual shops like J-One, Fotokem, Shangrila, Keycolor, Boeing they are fine. most shops are fine except for those in *coughlowyatcough* but as i have said, besides grey set, there are thousands of other ways a shop can 'cheat' a customer. have you seen a fake hoya? how do you differentiate an original battery and a fake battery? fake sandisk card anyone? i know all these because of the stories my students came back to tell me. so i learn from them and inform the future batch of students on what to beware of. |

QUOTE(Irbean @ Apr 9 2011, 12:54 AM) wta. 2 major differences.is there any big difference between grey set and nikon malaysia set instead of the local 1 year warranty? in term of performance or other relating issue, is there's major difference? 1. price. grey sets are usually lower in price. unless you got 'cheated'. 2. warranty. besides that, i will say there aren't any major differences. it's still a nikon. still a made in thailand or made in japan. it's not a fake nikon. it's not a nikun. so |
