i roughly compared my both lcd, office and home LCD, office one of course sucks because i go to http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/white.php i saw "200" only meanwhile my personal can see 8 levels of white saturation.  doh.gif

now back to the camera LCD, found out the colour is a bit contrast/ saturation compare to my monitor. so should i adjust my camera LCD to -2? default is 0.
*
LOL, my office one can only see 200 clearly and 244 barely noticeable ._. Wonder how my home unit would fare though.

wah - that's bad. biggrin.gif

I'm using Dell 2007WFP - S-IPS panel and calibrated with Spyder3Express - even at 254 can see very slight shade difference. brows.gif

monitor helps the output a lot.

I remember back when I was doing web site maintenance for a particular college. I tell you, vomit blood. I adjust picture nicely already they come say too dark la this la that la. I go over and see their monitor. their WHITE was GRAY!!!! so you can imagine la their maroon, dark blue and dark brown are all practically black.
*
Haha! Well that's why my pics looks like less detail on my office computer tongue.gif. Its those cheapo monitor to be honest. But my home one then again not a good one.. but at least more details.

Speaking about the Spyder3Express, it is worth grabbing one? I'm thinking to get one to calibrate my monitors at home.

up to you. for me, I'm doing web design / graphic design / photography.

as you can see, all areas place importance on colors.

some work are send for print - with calibration done, at least I have less avenue of problem........... or at least prints cannot blame me for anything. biggrin.gif
hehe yeah. kena before, my was opposite. design nicely liao no problem but cos client computer using lesser LCD quality, end up can see weird coloration on certain shades.

it's good to fine-tune as best as you can for monitor. even TN panel is fine la, just tune them.

yeah. a lot of my photos, imagine shooting black product on white background. biggrin.gif sure the histogram going to be U shaped.
*
I mean is the Spyder Express sufficient? Or the higher end would be more accurate in terms of calibration?

Think I'll order one from yamiya.. or any retail shops selling them? Trying looking in garage sales but like nobody selling sad.gif

i find it sufficient. smile.gif decide based on your monitor vs cost vs importance of color accuracy to you.

Alright will consider smile.gif

The brightest hall at KLCC, but also the crappiest lighting >_<

Just dislike the color tone... prefer the darker but amber lighting instead.

14 bit -> more details -> more space

Adobe RGB -> wider color space, but when posting photo to internet needs to convert to sRGB.

Why ar? Decide yourself.

Use vivid when you want the color to be more vibrant. It depends on what you want.

so normally u all use the vivid for landscape? saturation +3 in the camera for landscape? brows.gif
*
I shoot RAW so it doesn't matter what my Picture Control is anyways tongue.gif. In the end I have my own settings during post processing in Lightroom tongue.gif.

But if I were to shoot Landscape using JPEG, it would be Vivid default. For everything else, Vivid saturation -2.

i tot vivid is to add saturation tot the photo. how come u -2 saturation again? rclxub.gif
*
Cause I don't like too much of Saturation smile.gif. Either way the color looks ok to me, like I said its more of self preference. Its an art, yourself can decide what is nice.

Its a franchise, so branch to branch gives different service. Like wise for Fotokem Mahkota Parade in Melaka is lousy. Bad service, rude manager there and not to mention lousy pricing. 4.6k for D90 when I bought mine for 4050 back then lols.

Anyone using r strap/ capa quick strap here? drool.gif

Added on April 22, 2011, 4:12 pmhave a question here. you all attach polarizer on ur uv filter or remove the uv filter 1st ?
*
If you are shooting on an UWA lens, you are going to get vignetting due to the stacking of filters.
