I would like some feedback on your opinions of which is the best sounding TV you have heard so far or owned.
I myself have heard plenty during my search for a TV and in my opinion Toshiba ZV is the best sounding TV I have heard so far. Relatively loud, dynamic with airy highs and powerful lows / bass to boot. None of those tinny, brittle sounding, boxy sound that you normally hear.

The best simply does not mean going loudest as normally loud and thrashy sound causes high levels of fatigue to the ears.
Even a small transistor can be turned up loud but because there is a lack of power there are high levels of noise mixed together with the signals makes listening for extended periods difficult (of course I am only talking about normal people and not those that like to blast their ears off because strictly speaking they have already lost a lot of their sensitivity and thus wouldn't know the difference).
I mentioned ZV because it has relatively powerful sound across the frequency range with a slight boost at the higher and lower regions for movies (probably caused by the audyssey tuning)
If loudness is the gauge of best sound then we would be better off just buying some cheap pasar road amp and speaker instead of investing in proper hifi / av stuff.

Added on April 6, 2011, 11:52 amAuto volume or whatever name different TV companies call them are actually a compression function that basically takes away all the dynamics in the sound thus making loudest and softest passages seem like they are at the same loudness. This is fine if you are happy with just listening but if you want to enjoy the movie like the director meant for it to be heard you have better turn it off.
