I'm running iOS 4.0.1 on baseband 05.13.04 and would like to update to 4.3.1 with JB + unlock. Please let me know if I got this right.
- Use Sn0wbreeze 2.5 to create a custom IPSW that preserves my baseband, and JB with it. - Wait for the new Ultrasn0w to unlock
I guess that's it? Is there any benefit to upgrading the baseband at all?

QUOTE(sopol @ May 3 2011, 11:57 AM) Hi bro..fyi info my unit is a 3g only, jailbroken and unlocked. But long time ago.. Now want to upgrade to the latest supported ios. I have no idea which version support the 3g.. I would appreciate if you could direct me to any link that could guide me.. I followed this guide for my 3GS, except that I haven't unlocked it (no immediate need, but do eventually). It's pretty simple (although much harder relative to Redsn0w, which doesn't preserve baseband for unlock). This guide should be applicable for your 3G for iOS 4.2.1

Guys, my silent toggle switch is quite buggy now. When on silent toggle, will easily change modes back and forth with the slightest touch. Is there any app that allows me to create profiles for ringtones?
Thanks.

QUOTE(CallMeMonkey @ Jul 23 2011, 03:34 AM) erm i dont really understand from what i understand you want 2 apps, one app is hopefully to 'fix' your silent toggle, and one is and app to create profile for ringtone. am i correct? if you have activator app, you can always turn silent toggle on/off using simple touch gesture or using other button entirely if you want to assign different ringtone for different people, you can easily do that in the default contacts app Basically the physically silent switch above the volume buttons are faulty. I need an app-based way to get in and out of silent mode. Can't seem to find that option at Activator, only toggling Vibrate on/off.
