I must say that these are probably the most detailed moon shots we've had in this thread shot without the use of a telescope. The first time I've see the capabilities of the Sony A100 for astrophotography.

Now, if only you had done this during the eclipse.........

Viking, your photos are quite good. Did you overexpose the Moons purposely?

Why did you want to overexpose?

Actually overexposing means that your photo signal to noise is almost 0.

Yes, it is. All of the photos we take for astronomy has to be exposed correctly.

My S3 IS is the only thing near telescopic which I have. And the best shot of the moon using the 432mm without digital X is this. Too much noise polution at my place to try taking sky pics on starry nights. I know thou that MR.LKM's house pretty good place for that....
