Yea..Imagine what kind of stuff you will doing with ipad.
Watching videos, reading, light gaming and surfing net. Ipad 1 can do all these so far. Better get 32GB at least. Some 3d games can hit closer to 500mb storage. Bigger storage is also good for those who don't want to waste time in converting videos into mp4.. Watch and delete. There are apps which allow to watch rmvb, mkv, avi, flv or so on. |

Just bought my father in-law an iPad 1 16GB +3G in KLCC for his birthday. He's a happy camper.
I think 16GB is enough especially with Homesharing in iTunes and iOS 4.3, you can just stream the movies/music to your iPad from your iTunes library without having to put those movies/music into your iPad. This alone will save you a lot of space. I'm using a 16GB iPhone 4 where I upgraded from the 32GB 3Gs, I find that if I just put things (manage via iTunes), I will be able to fill up 10GB of stuffs in the iPhone, if I'm done listening to the music or if I'm not playing anymore with any of the games, I just deselect the apps/music from my iTunes and resync and I'll free up a lot of space. No problem. It's just a matter of managing the space and it's not that complicated. |

storage is depends how u use it ...if u wan to keep throw stuff inside your ipad without managing them even 64gb won't be enough for u ... just keep stuff that you needed and delete the others 16gb would be more than enough...

Non 3G got wifi only, 3G have a MicroSim slot. The 3G only for data, cannot use for voice.
Why I don't particularly prefer the 3G version. If I am at home, I have Fibre Optic Wifi - 3G will not be used If I am in the office - My office use Wifi also, so no need to use 3G If I am at the airport, most likely it will have Wifi - No need to use 3G also If I am in KLCC, Starbucks got Wifi, no need to use 3G also ... So don't know when or where I want to use 3G. Off course, if you have 3G, then you don't need to worry about not having Wifi but I dunno if the the extra price (RM450 at least) is worth it. |

Let me share some of my views as a uni student regarding my purchase of iPad 1 back in the February.
I had been planning to purchase it back since the day it was released as I'm like you, wanted to try out new gadget. Yet I'm worried that it might not serve much purpose as well, it's an entertainment consumption device. But after purchasing it, a 32GB wifi+3g version, I realize that I had started to read more ebooks (manga, article journals..) far than I had ever imagined. Squinting my eyes on a big monitor or laptop screen doesn't provide those reading experience as I always wanted. Yet with iPad, I'm able to read it while leaning on bed, or on the cafe. Fast forward 2 months and boom, iPad 2 had released, just as the rumors had said it would be. At first I'm worried as I seemed to purchase an 'outdated' device. But after seeing the specs, I realize that this purchase is the best bang for bucks. Even though iPad 2 sports 2 cameras, faster processor and lighter weight, it doesn't really matters much UNLESS the resolution is bumped up. The weight of iPad 1 is not really THAT heavy and the price now is really cheap. I don't really game much on the iPad so the faster graphic processor doesn't really matters much. Haha. I would recommend to go for 16GB which sells for around 1k or below or 32GB if you intend to install many apps.
For me even though I got the 3G but I only used it once when the Internet in my home is down. My uni and my home is covered by wifi. But with 3G it's a convenient factor if you wanted to surf net on public places such as shopping mall. E.g. going to Video Store and IMDB the blu-ray video that you are going to purchase to know the rating and reviews. |
