If 2018 will revert back to 3k only, is it still worth putting in? Anyone did some analysis? Tax noob here.

QUOTE(wongmunkeong @ Nov 2 2017, 10:47 AM) Also - no revision la. Actually I'm not thinking into such depth.from my understanding of the announced Budget 2018, it'll be rebranded to 1Malaysia Education Savings or something AND the tax relief of $6K continues. - please do correct me if i'm mistaken ya. Also - how to analyze when: 1. We don't know your tax bracket 2. We don't know what U know/dont know about how to use $ / invest 3. We also don't know your timeline for future spending Vs current spending/debts & debts' interest rate. bwhaahah sigh.. IMHO - best person to analyze one's requirements or worth it/not worth it is oneself Previously, I read someone calculated that if he max out 6k for tax relief, it was at least 1.2k net saving. So I'm looking for the figure if 3k, then how much is it? Wondering is it around 600. But if no revision, then no need think so hard. This post has been edited by Amanda85: Nov 2 2017, 11:32 AM |

QUOTE(justanovice @ Dec 26 2017, 02:13 PM) Hi all, we went to maybank and straight away open sspn account and bank in 6k. got the receipt as proof, i think it should be alright. the 14 days it to get an official letter from SSPN.Just came across this thread reading the sspn-i tax relief benefit... i do not have an account yet, i read in the website it takes ‘less than 14 days’ to open new account. So there is no way i can make it within the next few days for qualifying tax relief for year 2017 ? Thanks This post has been edited by Amanda85: Dec 26 2017, 02:38 PM |

Hi, all this talk about withdrawal, may I know does it affect the tax rebate we collected for the past few years?
Someone told me there is this clause that said we need to retain the money inside, or else the LHDN can demand back the tax relief claim?? I didn't know anything about the fine print. |
