Hi, SSPN newbie here. Would be grateful if someone can help to clarify how is the interest for SSPN calculated? Is it based on daily/monthly rest? Wondering whether there is any difference between putting in small amounts of money monthly vs one lump sum at the end of the year. When is the interest for SSPN given out?

It's work like FD I suppose. Being reluctant to bank in because very difficult to withdraw. That was few years back. Now I am not sure.

Dear all
I am quite puzzled with the interest rate (dividend) announced for 2014. It was announced to be 4.25%, but when I checked back the latest statement, I am only getting something like 1.68% for the amount I have deposited until 31 Dec 2014. How about your dividends? Thanks in advance for any input.

hmm.gif while waiting for responses, it would be best if you could provide some added info, like...
what is your a/c balance as at end 2013?
what is the dividend rate for 2013?
how much did you top up in 2014?
when did you top it up in 2014?

Dear Mum
Baki Awal 1 Jan 2014 RM1550
Baki AKhir 31 Dis 2014 RM 4500
Dividen 1 Jan 2015 RM 83.76

I made the deposit regularly from time to time.
Hence the dividend is something like 83.76/4500= 1.86%
Correct? Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks again.

is this going to make a difference?
I thought it is the annual contribution that matters, regardless of it being 250x12, or 3000x1 or 300x10....
again I may be totally wrong
please correct me and I apologize deeply for my ignorance.

Baki Awal 1 Jan 2014 RM1550
Baki AKhir 31 Dis 2014 RM 4500
Dividen 1 Jan 2015 RM 83.76

Assuming you put in RM 3000 on 31 Dec 2014
RM 1550 x 4.25% = RM 65.87
RM 83.76 - RM 65.87 = RM 17.89
will the RM 3000 placed on 31 Dec 2014 earn RM 17.89 interest from 2014?
just a thought.......

I see...
if this is the case, the dividend is even less than 1%?

I read on the PTPTN website that to withdraw you need to attach a death certificate of the depositor. so means depositor need to be deceased first in order to withdraw??

Can I deposit into the account today and then take everything out again in a month's time or will there be any penalties? Need to go to PTPTN HQ to withdraw or can withdraw online?
