Seems like the calculation is a bit off.

I deposit 8k with no withdrawal but tax relief statement calculated 7960.. the amount is immaterial so I will just ignore it and follow 7960..

SSPN tax deduction max is 8k. If I've 2 kid and have opened 1 account for 1st kid, withdrawn back. Can I open new acc for 2nd kid and only need to bank in 8k to be entitled for tax deduction 8k next year?
*
2kids one tax relief statement. Its combined together. You wont be able to claim 8k without depositing 16k this year.

The thing with gov. website and processing it's rather slow and inefficient.

I purposely did 2 withdrawal @ RM100 from 2 different account on Thursday and today they only deposit 1 of the RM100 in my account.

And another RM100 will have to wait for next week.

If money is need urgently I would just use BI to withdraw or even if is not urgent I will still use BI just because of PTPTN inefficiency.

Hi all. A question for those who are claiming RM8000 income tax relief. I want to ask about the situation below:

2018 - Withdraw rm20K. Deposit RM10K. No tax relief allowed since withdrawal more than deposit
2019 - Withdraw RM0. Deposit RM8K. For year 2019 can I obtain RM8K tax relief, although for 2018 the nett deposit is -RM10K?
*
You dont even need to ask.

Just login to sspn and check your tax relief statement there. You will know whether you have 8k tax relief or none.

I'm sure you are eligible for 8k deduction.

For SSPN-i plus,

If there are no claim and reach the age of 66 then will the account holder get any maturity benefit/cash value?

I noticed there are fees charged for Yuran Wakalah - 5% and Cukai Setem - 10%. Is it an one-off from our first deposit amount to the takaful or it is charge monthly from each deposit?

I am a bit confuse that so forumers will deposit RM 8K lump sum for tax relief. How does the amount allocate for saving and takaful? Does the extra amount also can earn dividend?

Since there is no compound interest/dividend on the saving account, does that mean we can deposit 8k in January, withdraw 8k in February, top up monthly based on the package we selected and then top up 8k on December again, in order to earn the yearly dividend, get tax relief and also serve the package we selected?

Sspn-I plus is insurance package with savings.

Most people here is depositing into Sspn-I only

Does it worth to have the insurance feature (SSPN-i plus)?

To get the full dividend, we need to deposit the money in January and maintain it till the year end or we can deposit it in January and withdraw full/partial then deposit back before/on 31 December?

To get the tax relief, is it every year we need to place deposit and minus any withdrawal to get the final year end balance for that year?

How about the scenario below:
Jan 2020    deposit RM 8k
February    withdraw RM 8k
December  deposit RM 8k

Can I still get the tax relief of 8k and full dividend for year 2020?
*
Worth it or not is up to you.

Life insurance for children is a waste of money imo.

it has changed to tax rebate instead of tax relief now?

er.. thought it was tax relief, ie. xx% of RM8000,
not RM8000 knock off against tax payable - didnt know it has changed
*
Most people will say tax relief as tax rebates.

They think its the same but its actually different.

The only tax rebate is the rm400 LHDN that is applicable to individual who has less than 35,000 chargeable income.

So try at your own risk and update us next year..

if you request the withdrawal online through SSPN website, you can choose to credit to any bank of your choice.

Only if you want instant withdrawal, then only use Bank Islam online banking that will charge RM0.50 per withdrawal.

Sad since no extension of the 8k tax relied.

The reduce 2% tax rate doesn't help much for me.

In fact I have to pay extra tax.

That's the intention of Gov? To get more tax from tax payer.

Assume chargeable income at 68k after deducting all tax relief except sspn 8k

2023 without 8k tax relief
First 50k - 1500
Bal. 18k @ 11% = 1980
Total tax = 3480

2022 tax rate with 8k tax relief
First 50k - 1800
Bal 10k @ 13% = 1300
Total tax = 3100

For YA 2023 I'm paying extra 380 tax.

If 2023 is with 8k tax relief then we will pay less tax.

First 50k - 1500
Bal 10k @ 11% = 1100
Total tax = 2600
