i think that IAFM... sooner or later sure problem come out.... cause last time a malay technician tell me that.. barang plastic mana boleh tahan panas..

my fren maybe can help u modify the lighting system..next time i show photo of my previous club at johor..all member is modify the lighting system..my previous wira se oso..

Bro mafarizan, this is already classified as severe case of IAFM knocking. There could be 2 reasons as to why the noises are louder in certain cars with IAFM problems than others.

1.) The 1st few batches of IAFM, one of the valves is made with a longer edge (projectus?). Thus when this valve starts to turn, it hits the sides of the IAFM body & cause the sound.

2.) The owner may have ignored the IAFM noise until it got worst and louder then only recorded it. As I've experienced this myself, the IAFM noise gets louder & louder over time. Just because it's not loud enough doesn't mean it's not IAFM problem, it's just not severe enough yet. Mine when the sound was quite soft, I brought it to CoSE & they kept denying that it's IAFM problem. Even said that they've checked and there's no problem. The moment I got into the car & start it I already can hear the faint (tak tak tak tak) sound. Furious, I drove straight out of CoSE & to a SC near my place and have it diagnosed. They jacked up my car, & the mechanic went under to diagnose it while the engine is running. Once he hold the valve, the sound is gone as the plastic is not knocking the sides. When he let go of the valve, the noise came back instantly. The replacement of IAFM manifold also eliminated the noise altogether.

Furthermore, u do realise that all the videos that u posted or other users posted on youtube regarding IAFM problems are videos of SAGA BLM, rite? Saga BLM is the first batch of cars to use IAFM, & their problem is much more obvious. Our Persona's IAFM is slightly refined, but the problem still persists.

Complain oni la to MPSJ. Tell them that her car parked on outside road also. Outside road not under her ownership. She buy house no free road, so by right it's illegal to park her car outside, and therefore she should kena warning, compound, clamp + tow. In fact everyone's car there should be towed away because they don't own the road. Then everyone in ur neighbourhood will hate her

I mean, by luck u may get one set of extractor that works properly if u choose cap ayam. But I know I did not when I first got the cap ayam extractor. Switched back to hotbits.

Hotbits extractor - Some branded swirling bullet (dun remember what brand, never heard before) - Mid muffler cap ayam - RSR S-flow rear muffler.

Totally agreed with you bro..... the vendor also use the same method to trouble shoot the iafm system..... hold the valve and the sound gone....

but mine now got new sound tik tik tik intermitent ... are this is also came from IAFM maybe other things of IAFM part.. bcoz the valve problem has been solve by proton....

It may not be caused by IAFM. I'm not there to hear the noise so I cannot simply diagnose it n tell u that it's IAFM noise. But what u can do is self diagnose it.

The noise will be slightly louder n more obvious in the morning during cold starts, and the frequency of the noise goes up as u step on the accelerator n goes down once u release it. Then it's IAFM problem. If u do not encounter this at all, it's possible that the tik tik noise came from ur timing system.

Ngeo, do not blindly take these videos as guide because these are videos of saga blm with IAFM problems, not persona. The noise may be different slightly.

Yes. But performance wise I wouldn't know how would it be like as I've not tried that setup yet.

I've only tried:

Extractor -> Stock mid muffler -> Stock rear muffler.

Extractor -> Bullet -> Bullet -> Stock rear muffler.

Extractor -> Swirling bullet -> Mid muffler -> Stock rear muffler.

Extractor -> Swirling bullet -> Mid muffler -> RSR S-flow rear muffler.
