The sales tax in New York is 8.875% which is around the average sales tax in the US. People can argue that well, now you can buy it in the UK. Be prepared to pay 10% higher than the prices in the US (that is after the sales tax have been applied ... i.e. 10% x 660 bucks for the 32GB Wifi) AND PLUS the VATs at 17.5%. And all these prices is if you stand in line for 5-8 hours which has a cost by the way.

It cost me at least 5 bucks for the subway tickets from my hotel to Fifith Avenue, 20 bucks for 4 cups of coffee (how do you expect to stay warm in -3 degrees weather ... I can still remember the chills I was getting ...), 6 bucks for doughnuts and 20 bucks for the taxi cab ride back to the hotel coz I can't stand anymore after standing in -3 degrees temperature ... all this cost adds up so if people want to "berkira" about why the iPad 2 must cost so high ... then seriously, buy a ticket to the US or Hong Kong and see how much the iPad is going to cost you.
