Just wondering... I just got my 3ds xl yesterday and its a US set

Do you normally put region as US or Malaysia?

When I put US as my region, and access the EShop they told me there's an update for swap note. S I agreed to update but in the end what happened was they asked me for post code to verify tax calculations... Is that normal??
