I got a Asus 280X DC2, and it has got artifacts problems. It look like a common defect with 280X as detailed in Asus ROG forum:
https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?4...-Artifacts!!
If I RMA my card, what's your solution for it?
just RMA the card.
this card out on market so long edi and they never release a new bios to fix it. (updated once but still got 2d flickering)
meanwhile other brand 280x their support team updated the bios long time ago edi. asus? nah.
they (customer) can even ask a custom bios (with just some clock value modifed) from support team.
asus? nah. I request from asus malaysia and they say not possible, ask me to use 3rd party software.
and the fact why i don't just rma the card is because mine unit are imported unit which are not able to claim warranty here.
just rma the card until you receive a good unit.
if still receiving flickering 280x, rma until they offer you another model for replacement.
asus support team i prefer taiwan asus, they are more friendly and not so strict.
malaysia asus support team? everything follow rule, and rule, very strict.
especially when you lose the receipt = can't claim.
they say we must provide the receipt as prove of purchase to proceed with warranty claim/replacement.
meanwhile i check oversea forum, majority of asus customer doesn't need provide receipt oso can claim warranty.
below are asus matter, not asus.my.
laptop Asus N55SF and N55SL.
go check the release date, and check windows release date, then check the laptop driver support compability.
I emailed Asus and demand bios update for new windows, they say they will put me in the demand list and work on it.
then drag and drag and drag. i email asked the 3rd time, they say asus no longer support this product... wtf.
It just the 2-3 years after this product release then no more support. wtf.
see the N55SF driver support. ONLY windows 7 64 bit. ONLY.

it's N series and cost around rm2.6k that time. not those low end product which probably will lack of product support.
but still..
and sound card Asus Xonar Essence STX,
although it's old product, but still considerable as premium/high end sound card on today,
and still quite well known around the world and still selling on the market.but you go see the driver support.
