Ideally you should get the same exact card but like herojack41 said, you can can clock the card to run at the same speeds as the other card. However, you MUST adjust every spec to be the same speeds.

I've got some issues with the p8p67 deluxe board.
the pc just wont start, and it shows a "red" cpu led light on the board, which is right next to the cpu fan, I have already called in once, they told me to send the board in for warranty, and so I did.

mean while, when the board is off for warranty, i purchased another board, which is the asus p8h61-m le, and everything works fine.

today i got my board back from warranty, so i replaced back the board (seller did it) after running for a few hours, the same "red" cpu led light came back on.

I ran out of idea of what is wrong. any better suggestion? can there be a refund to this prob?
*
Sounds like a BIOS update is in order. However, did your PC work before? Or the problem surfaced just after assembling the motherboard? I'd assume that the service centre should have already tried updating the BIOS but doesn't hurt to try it yourself. Also, you might wanna check the socket pins to see if they are bent.

You can upgrade the graphics chip if that's what you're asking but the cost of doing so is rather high.

Hi, i wanna retract my earlier statement as that was a mistake. It is stated that one can CrossFire two different models with different specs but they MUST be in the same series (eg. HD6870 + HD6850 or HD 6970 + HD6950)

As with AMD graphics cards, you can also SLI two different models with different specs but they must be in the same series AND with the same prefix (e.g. GTX, GTS, GT, etc.) So any model within the 500 series can be SLI-ed. Therefore, you can SLI the GTX 570 with the Matrix 580. But IMHO, you will be wasting money on the Matrix 580 as the faster card will always lower its own speeds to match the slower card. You might as well go for the GTX 560 or the GTX 550.

However, be WARNED. SLI-ing and CrossFiring doesn't necessarily mean it will perform better as it depends on the application's (e.g. the game you're playing) coding.

You mean nVidia cards.

Anyway, for nVidia cards, you can only SLI cards of the same model e.g a GTS250 with a GTS250, not a 9800GTX with a 9800GT as an example. AMD cards are much more flexible and as long as they're in the same family then you can CrossfireX them, though I wouldn't exactly suggest that anyone do that cause the faster card will be bottlenecked by the slower card.

Ah sorry, NVIDIA cards. But it is stated in NVIDIA's faqs that cards of the same series can be SLI-ed. But the prefix must be the same, which you have reiterated (i.e. 9800GTX can't SLI with 9800GT).

My apologies everyone. NVIDIA did say that cards with the same GPU can be SLI-ed together; GTX 570 and GTX 580 both has the GF110 chip. However, memory types and volume must also be the same. Hence, they can't be SLI-ed.

It depends on your locality. Usually it only takes about a week but if you're residing in a state that is other than KL, Penang and JB, then the dealer will have to travel to the service centre to collect the new motherboard for you. Where are you staying by the way?

As for the lucky draw, we are only conducting it in Low Yat Plaza and Digital Mall.

Apologies. Our service centre in JB under development. So in the mean time, you will have to liaise with the dealer that you bought from. Give them a call and see how you can arrange for your mobo to be swapped.
