Most hospital do it no? Just ask your gynae.
If I still remember correctly, it's few hundred or so and few japs. I don't wanna go for the japs cause hear some people don't really react to it well. I rather go for pap smear every year. |

BP an pathlabs usually more expensive. Ive a cousin who also asked me whether want jap or not last time. Around few hundred for few japs also. But I didn get the contact or anything cause not interested.
Pap smear is actually a test that we girls should get checked up at our usual gynae every year. Many malaysians not aware of these tests but it's very popular overseas and in some countries it's compulsory for women to do it. Just go google about it la. Japs need to go for few times over few weeks or months like that. After that nonit edi, I'm not very sure about this though. |

Cervarix is the trade name of the vaccine that you can get in M'sia. From my experience you have 3 doses, the first 2 is one month apart... and then the 3rd one is 5 months later.
I suppose you can get it cheaper if you go to a government hospital or clinic. I got mine for a discount so it's 155 per dose. You should check around for the price. Can't be too sure about that. Cervarix is for HPV type 16 and 18. I'm not sure if there are newer ones out there. I know there are stories saying that it might be dangerous and cause disease, but this is a protein subunit vaccine, so they don't actually use viruses to stimulate immune responses. In my opinion there's really nothing to be worried about. Some people may have allergies, but the probability is very low. Maybe one in thousands. But don't take it from me, always confirm with your doctor. The only downside is that your arm WILL hurt for a few days after, cos it's an intramuscular injection. Well, depends on your tolerance for pain. There is another type called Gardasil, but I'm not sure if it's marketed here. Best advice: go to a clinic/hospital and get a consultation. |

I'm a medical student and had 2 jabs done. Indeed, going to government hospital or clinic is cheaper.
My view is, if u get to pay a sum of money in preventation of cancer, why spare the money? Cervical Cancer is often too late when discovered. Sometimes treatment involves removing ur uterus or worse. it's common that ur arm will hurt after vaccination, regardless of what vaccines u're taking. And yes indeed there've been documented side effects all over the internet, warning girls not to take the vaccine, but hey, which vaccines do not have side effects? It's just whether or not it has been publicized as much. |

I am planning to get the jab. Another friend's sis of mine took it in KL and it cost her RM800 or so for 3 jabs.
First jab, 2nd jab is 1 month after and last one 6 months after the first one and there you go completed the whole vaccination. It can last you up to 5 years thats what i heard of. Anyone took at @ gov hospital yet? so we can know roughly how much we could save up. |

QUOTE(09876 @ Mar 30 2011, 12:21 AM) Hi Girls, You need 3 injections for HPV immunity. It'll cost you RM800-RM1.2 for 3 jabs over a period of 6 months. Better get it done ASAP because these things aren't going to get cheaper.Have anyone done this Cervical Cancer Prevent before? How much i need to pay for the injection? or something else? |
