Seems like software issues in the Xoom are still present. Will see how fast the updates come, for it's a shame if that is slow considering how good the whole package seems on paper.

Anandtech has a favourable review of the device, although there's still some niggling issues with the dock detection and camera/video.

I couldn't wait and ordered one from Taiwan through Ebay, got it yesterday  smile.gif

This little baby is gorgeous, but as has been reported, the Honeycomb software is still buggy and had frequent crashes.  I got an OTA firmware update last night, hopefully that stabilizes things a bit.

Impressions:

1. Screen is nice, but very reflective, especially in bright conditions.
2. Fantastic for reading ebooks and magazines - form factor just nice and easy to hold for long periods.
3. Not many Honeycomb optimized apps yet - most are just direct ports from Froyo versions.
4. Asus built in apps all work great.

How much is the Taiwan price? Bought the keyboard dock as well?

It is going to launch in Malaysia by MAY soon...

Selling sample already allocated and it is awesome especially the docking keyboard.

RM1750 without the keyboard? Aren't those guys in the US paying the same price together with the keyboard dock?

U want watch movies at tablet? Buy ipad2.

How would iPad2 be a better choice when all the Honeycomb tablets use a 720p capable screen res whereas the iPad doesn't?

I'm not sure how many units Asus have for the launching date but all the stores in the US are out of stock... with all the promotion plus huge list of resellers, I thought it would be easy to get stock. But now all those resellers are either preorder, or just out of stock.

Which is why I'm also asking another friend in Singapore to help get for me one if he's free. If I end up with both I'd just sell one off.

Seems like the Asus EEE Transformer production line has been crippled by lack of parts. Could it be Apple hoarding all the IPS screen production? Possible.

Is it possible the earthquake at Japan disrupted the supply chain?
*
I suspect Apple took some of their stock as well, given that the iPad 2's screens are sourced from 4 different manufacturers, one who most likely was supposed to supply Asus.

Old news, benny888 already posted that. The SG$799 price for both items is not a permanent offer either.

I haven't ever handled a Wifi only Android device yet but anyway:

To buy paid apps on a device, you need to use Market Enabler or a similar tool to fool the Android Market to assume that your SIM card is from a telco in a country that can buy paid apps. What about the Transformer?

Dammit, got scammed by those Singaporeans... sad.gif SG$799 means I paid nearly RM200 more for it.

Question.... Can install win7 on this eeepad? I'd love to have dual boot option...
*
Remote desktop only for Win7. The Tegra2 processor (and all other ARM processors) cannot run the Intel x86 instruction set natively.

Win8 could be possible depending on the awesomeness of the folks on XDA-developers.

really? iianm toshiba folio runs on tegra n on windows 7...

Windows 7 was compiled for running on the X86 CPU instruction set. This is only supported on Intel, AMD, VIA and one or two very small CPU makers.

Nvidia, Qualcomm, TI, Samsung and other CPU makers are using ARM instruction sets. If you want Windows on ARM, wait for windows 8 as it will support ARM processors.

I got an OTA update. Maybe you need to disable your market proxies temporarily.
