QUOTE(yimingwuzere @ May 3 2011, 05:49 PM) http://www.netbooknews.de/39604/engpasse-a...ro-monat-bauen/ (needs google translate) Seems like the Asus EEE Transformer production line has been crippled by lack of parts. Could it be Apple hoarding all the IPS screen production? Possible. Is it possible the earthquake at Japan disrupted the supply chain?

QUOTE(yen223 @ May 3 2011, 06:45 PM) Is it possible the earthquake at Japan disrupted the supply chain? I suspect Apple took some of their stock as well, given that the iPad 2's screens are sourced from 4 different manufacturers, one who most likely was supposed to supply Asus.

QUOTE ASUS Singapore Official Fan Club
Hi all, in regards to price difference in US & SG for Eee Pad Transformer, there're many factors to it as different countries will have different pricing structure which we cannot release anymore information as it's confidential. In addition, warranty for US purchase is only local warranty (covered in US) while for SG units, it's international warranty. Thanks.

Old news, benny888 already posted that. The SG$799 price for both items is not a permanent offer either.

QUOTE(Atsutane-Shirane @ May 5 2011, 06:05 PM) While you there... can get one for me if it's cheap... what is your target price? i can surely help you to get one if you really want - just for you. I think if the demand is good, Asus might not offer a very good price at the show but i think those freebies like the official accessories announced by Asus should be expected free with purchase. Or they might have dirt cheap early bird offer for first 20 customers. Then I must go queue up real early in the morning.

QUOTE(Atsutane-Shirane @ May 6 2011, 03:48 PM) Well target would be around 2k... as long it got international warranty... i be happy already... with that budget, you should get it NOW!! coz I think the current promo price with dock is SGD799=>>RM1,957.55 (@2.45). But I heard it sells like hot cake in most shops - not even take out as demo unit already being sold.

Because the production of Asus too slow. Only 10k per month, they expected 200k per month. The japan quake effected the production speed.
