CIMB offers both VS and VI, while DA issues VI and no VS at this moment. Generally, there is not much difference between CIMB VS and CIMB/DA VI. As a CIMB VS cardholder, you can enjoy all the privilege and discount given to CIMB/DA VI members, except some golfing benefits which are only applicable to CIMB/DA VI.

I personally feel that CIMB is better than DA, even though DA is under CIMB. My DA card was not recognised by some merchants on a few occasions, although it rarely happened.

That's why I got myself DA VI instead, 0.5% cash back instantly for every sen charged in Malaysia and 1% cash back for overseas transactions. I don't need to worry about points expiry, and at the same time I enjoy benefits given by CIMB.

As for me, the main attraction of CIMB/DA cards is the 0% BT only. I have yet to receive any notification from CIMB about the change of my DA VI to CIMB version. I wonder how CIMB would conduct this massive change, especially when a lot of DA customers are currently having BT. The transfer to CIMB would imply a new card number.

Other than BT, for me, it is good for the 10% - 20% discount at selected restaurants that I usually visit.

It's time to cancel CIMB credit cards.
