how do they define "e-commerce". all online transactions including ebay can be considered as e-commerce?

my idea is:

1. apply for new CIMB cash rebate platinum to get 50% cashback for first transaction (capped at RM250)
http://www.cimbbank.com.my/creditcard/inde...g=pm_list&ac=62

2. join the weekly cashback promo to get another RM250
http://www.cimbbank.com.my/creditcard/inde...g=pm_list&ac=65

3. item 1 & 2 above shall be done via online transaction with more than rm1000 so i can get another 5% (capped at rm50)

so the total of rebate here is RM550

Sorry never really research on CIMB CC thus far. But saw someone posting about RM250 off from 1st purchase.

Just few question to be answered:

1. Any CIMB CC eligible for this promotion? If so looking for the CIMB Cashback Platinum card
2. RM50 is it absorbed by the bank or consumer bear it? If so effective CB should be only RM200 right?
3. When will the CB be refunded back to account?
4. Only available if apply from CIMB card centre? If so where is it, didn't really see any of it thus far.

That's all for now. Hopefully my question can be answered.
*
1. any platinum and above. gold is not entitled
2. RM50 GST will be absorbed by bank if you swipe your card minimum 3 times within 60 days from card approval. you have to pay the GST first, bank will return RM50 into your account after 60 days.
3. from my own experience, 50% cashback was credited within 2 weeks after the transaction date
4. only available for instant credit card application at 4 cimb card centres. (midvalley, pavillion, sunway pyramid, klcc)

50% rebate will be credited within 1-2 weeks after 1st transaction.. RM50 GST waiver will be credited after 60 days after card approval, provided you swipe 3 times within that period

if i use cimb cash back to pay maxis bill via pay pal, will i entitle to 5%? or just 0.2%?

The merchant is paypal so it should be 5%. But there is 0.8% cross border fee. Still good anyway

very rare for banks to make mistake, so it could be from the merchant side. since it is an online purchase, maybe it is a discount that you are not aware off  whistling.gif  sleep.gif

From the FAQ stated only MCC 4900 is excluded for online payment for utility. Anyone have tried to pay astro bill online and get 5%? If i am not mistaken MCC code for astro is 4899
