If I link my new CIMB credit card to my CIMBClicks SA, does it mean I subscribe to the eStatement service automatically and I would not be receiving any hard copy of monthly statement?

For my case, I still receive my statement in hardcopy. This was in Feb 2013 by the way.

Thanks!

in this case, to entitle for the 5% e-commerce rebate, should we paying groupon by using our cimb cash back plat or using paypal?
*
QUOTE(tifosi @ Dec 8 2013, 09:18 AM)
Yes, I do that with credit card payment instead of Paypal. Same goes with purchasing GSC movie ticket (20% off until 31st Dec 2013). Pay with credit card option instead of Paypal.
*
Yes, directly through credit card payment. By the way, purchases made at Groupon are confirmed to be in the e-commerce category. It is stated in the FAQ of CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum cc, Question 11.

Perhaps, you could refer to this Link to get the real format to register for the cash back promotion.

I followed the format as above and registered on 17/12. I did receive a thank you message for participation after that. Maybe you can try again.

Assuming that you have linked your card to CIMBClicks,

My Accounts > Credit Cards > View Recent Transactions.

Let's say for CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum Credit Card,

Total Outstanding balance : RM500
Rebate : RM150 (Welcome Bonus)
Outstanding balance (need to pay) : RM350?

1. Is the rebate (Welcome Bonus) received offset the outstanding balance automatically?
2. Is it necessary to call CS to use the Welcome Bonus to offset the outstanding balance?

it will offset automatically without the need to call cs.

Thanks. Actually, I assume the same. But, there are Finance Charges in my statement, even though I have paid fully days before the due date (considering the RM150 Welcome Bonus + money paid for the remaining outstanding balance). The amount of the Finance Charges is calculated to be for an overdue amount of RM150.

Called CS and he said with the rebate and money paid, it is considered fully paid and the Finance Charges will be credited back in the next statement.

With the reversal there will be no bad record, right?

to avoid all the trouble, you should have paid all the outstanding including the rm150 (if the rm150 welcome bonus delayed to show up in your statement). so when the rm150 is added to you later on, you can use it to offset your future transactions with the cc (unless you are not using the cc anymore).
*
Actually, I assume there will be no trouble at all because,

1. The statement date was on 28 Jan.
2. The RM150 Welcome Bonus was credited on 30 Jan.
3. And I made the remaining payment via CIMBClicks on 13 Feb.

All payments were transacted and posted before the due date, 17 Feb.

Anyway, it is just a sharing. blush.gif

yes, if this was the case (confirming rm150 was credited on 30/1), then it shouldn't be a problem at all.
this should be cimb problem then...  hmm.gif

and yes, when the reversal takes place, you won't have a bad record.  nod.gif

hi Lucas,

When did you received your card and how long you waited for the RM150 welcome bonus to be credited?

i have waited 90 days, still haven't seen my welcome bonus...
*
Hi,

I guess the approval for this card was on 8 Nov because GST was charged on that same date.

Got the RM150 Welcome Bonus on 30 Jan. That would be about 83 days.

When did you get your card?

I just got my card last month, how to check if i am entitled for the Welcome Bonus?
*
Erm, I was offered the card by phone calling, back in October. She offered me RM150 Welcome Bonus, with 3 swipes within 60 days from the card approval date. At that time, she said that the Welcome Bonus would be credited into my credit card account in 3 phases, each phase with the amount of RM50, starting from the third month. Somehow, within 90 days, the RM150 Welcome Bonus has been credited into my cc account, in a lump sum. laugh.gif

Where did you applied for your card?

I thinking this way because

Example
MY to Taipei
Air Asia RM800 (direct air asia only rebate RM50) but if expedia upfront RM800 - 80 = RM720 then minus 50 become RM670 right?
I received my call last week and get my card within a week... mine don't have RM150 rebate i think!! damn!!!

QUOTE(OptimusStar @ Mar 3 2014, 11:39 PM)
She did mentioned swipe 3 times and get a 50 ringgit rebate to offset the GST.
*
Perhaps the promotion / offer is not the same for everyone. In this thread, some posted that they were offered RM200 Welcome Bonus. It is okay also since there will be a RM50 Welcome Bonus to offset the GST. laugh.gif

I checked RM949(expedia) vs Rm917(AirAsia)

Mean Expedia price RM949 - RM95(upfront)+RM50 = 804
meanwhile Air Asia is RM917 - RM50 = RM867
*
Should it be RM949 - RM94.90(10% upfront) - RM42.71(5% cash rebate) = RM811.40? hmm.gif

In addition, some forumers here said that ticket purchases made through AirAsia website did not come with the 20% cash rebate. blush.gif
