but normal spendings still need to charge.. but still 2% for 10months considered cheap dy right? i dont think i saw other gold card with better rate..
*
Please get your fact right.
You are not talking about Easy Installment, you are referring to conversion of your normal purchase to Easy Installment plan. All banks charge a percentage for this conversion if they do offer this program. The conversion is independent of whatever card you are holding ... it is valid so long you are a valid cardholder.

Some people 0.5% already make noise and this is not a matter whether the interest is cheap or not. We over here do not encourage people to build their debt using credit card as this will lead to spending beyond their limit. Have money, pay all.

Yup, CIMB mastercard really useless.

Nothing special and cash rebate for us
*
Not entirely true. The card does not match your expectations and spending patterns. To some people it is very useful.
For example ... I have the card but I don't use it for my general spending. However it gave me interest free installment for my hospital bills which no other credit card in Malaysia offer.

if i not wrong, that is for classic and gold card holder only right? i hear plat or higher will not be affect or require to do that wo.. you now hold cimb gold card?

The ruling is to curb problems relating to unsecured debt to income ratio which is the fault of the banks (previously) when issuing credit cards - using CL as the "candy" to attract customers. And CL is indirectly tied to the type/status of the card. It is a serious problem when customers abuse the system and even more serious when some thinks CL is a privilege or an indicator to your "status".

Get this straight ... CL nor color nor type of credit card is NOT an indicator of your status. Real hard cold cash is.
CL is just an indicator how much debt the bank want to give you. CL on its own has no monetary value.

If you have no problems to comply and qualify according to BNM rules then I don't see the ruling matters to you.
Either way (submit or no submit) - the rule would not impact you nor affect you at all.

Unless of course you are indirectly implying (for yourself or proxy) that you will have problems to comply to the ruling. (I hope not ... you are still foolish if you still have the mindset on credit cards as you has always shown)

superwoman, can help me solve this problem??

i wish to apply my 1st CC. applied UOB One card classic and MBB 2 Gold, but both rejected, due to my 200k ASB loan under CIMB.. so if i apply under CIMB, will i get approve? my annual income according to EPF statement is around 30000k p.a..

but basically i get higher than that since i work with my dad (family business) and i just do the payslip just for cc apply matter..

Please don't use superwoman to solicit for special favors. We appreciate his contribution here on credit card matters and it should remain that way.
I won't tolerate such solicitation activity in here from here onwards.

We appreciate @superwoman presence in here but please don't "abuse" him. This a thread for CIMB cc ... no housing loan info request or anything else which is not related, etc. And the rant about loans, cc - well reminds me of members from my fan club.

And for everyone's information, not everyone who works in the bank have access to CCRIS and CTOS. And even if they do, nobody would be in their right mind to publish/provide such info in a public forum and risk losing their job.

And I'll be worried as well if there's unethical rouge bank staff who prowl these forums as well. I'll boycott the bank and report it to BNM.

wahhhh need so serius meh.. this is forum only la.. people come here for discussion and relax only ma, y u always say like ppl wan come here to do somoething illegal one.. wondering y u always so furious even no one ask you question. doh.gif hmmm you really need to go out and mix with more ppl la... you are too narrow minded already

Emm .... I wonder why my fan club members reappeared ?
What I said is true and has basis ... look around in the forum and thread. I don't mind questions but when the question goes into a danger area then I need to intervene. if P&C stuff like CCRIS, CTOS can be asked in an open forum so what's stopping anyone about asking it for someone else ?
And I value the guy's contribution and what I am seeing is people asking him to do things which he does not do - Among others - It is siutimtim or kathywong asking that question?

Superwoman loves his work (i think so) and helping others but not to the extent of risking his job by doing something he should not do. And I will do the same for (what I think) any other valued contributors. Same reactions goes for the other way. There are "lively" discussions going on sometimes but so long it is not out of bounds so I allow it for educational purposes.

Not to long ago there was a discussion about cc debt and the cardholder died - I responded objectively and no debate on how the debt came to that manner. I don't think I can answer it in a relaxed manner and the answer was checked before I replied. There's legal implications and affecting many - was I wrong to think ahead ?

Like you said ... forum for discussion and relax only and I don't see any reasons the need to ask for illegal stuff or do I understand you wrongly ?
I always love your comments about me ... want to marry me ? Then perfect balance - me serious (as you perceived) and you happy just about everything. Or you have a husband already ? And are you 100% certain I don't have friends and narrow minded ? (hahaha ... i like this the best)

Seriously, I appreciate with your FREE work here. This may be a forum for discussion but many here come to find quick answers and expect us to spoon feed them. But, that is ok to some extend. The problem is that there are many people here out to con others or give people impression that it is okay to do illegal stuff. And the worst part is there are those desperate people who want credit cards or personal loans and are willing to give their personal info to strangers (agents here in this forum) instead of going to the bank itself.

You keep referring superwoman as a "him" whereas I thought was a "she". Therefore, if superwoman is a guy, I would say that using the nick superwoman is misleading others here too.
*
Yup ... it rather entertaining to have my fan club rooting for me. Especially what I wrote will always have constructive comments from my fan club.
Oh yes ... as per your note. That does happen here a lot ... many wanting easy way out (easy application .... no need to move or go to the bank) would just surrender their personal info to strangers who lurks here in this forum. And then the same person will come back and talk about (in another section) about scammer warnings, personal experience, etc - whereas the situation could have been avoided in the first place through simple common sense and some practical security.

Personally .... I am not sure superwoman is a man/she. (Does not matter but I'm straight BTW) Perhaps the impression makes me think it is a he rather than a she.
If it is a she then I'm interested to meet superwoman in person but I think I need to seek approval from my fan club. (Just like some HK superstar) Hahahaha biggrin.gif

Guys, i have a question in doubt here. I have CIMB direct access visa and mastercard, am i able to use swipe this card in USA as in using this card over there? not through online purchase.
*
Yes ... you should be able to use it in USA and the same goes for any physical transactions for any locations in the world. We recommend you contacting the bank whenever you use the card overseas for security purposes and to prevent for the bank for blocking your card for suspected fraud (this might happen should the bank's fraud detection system auto blocks your card).

Great! Thanks for the info. Will call them up 1st. I was thinking if not allowed then i need to apply a new card already which is troublesome.

May I know what makes you think that your card would not be able to be used overseas ?
Seems this myth lingers in everyone mind for as long as I could think of.

I'm aware that sometimes Citibank, SCB, HSBC agents (especially Citibank agents) will tout their card as internationally recognized but don't be too quick to believe what they say. Some facts to consider ....

1. Some of the agents has never been anywhere overseas before so how do they know? They are reading stuff which their boss/colleagues/marketing info tell them to tell you - so are they really sure that their cards are accepted worldwide? Pop question - in which country credit cards are not accepted at all ? In which country only VISA is accepted ? (See if they can answer this)
2. Some so called internationally recognized cards are not even "recognized" because they don't have a strong presence in that country. Example Hana Bank is likely to be more well known than "HSBC" in South Korea. And vice versa ... while Hana Bank is strong in Korea, you would not recognize them in Malaysia. But would this matter ? (Read next)
3. All credit cards with Mastercard / VISA affiliation logo are recognized worldwide and that's what matters. Bank brands are secondary. Go to Korea where cc are widely used as primary payments - nobody cares about what brand/bank origin of card you hold so long the transactions are approved and they get their money/payments. Fact, debit cards has the same capabilities as well so long they carry that logo.

** Don't get confused with International money withdrawal - that's Cirrus.

This is not the place to solicit for agents. You want a card ... go to services section or call the bank directly. I won't allow any solicitation in here.
This is stated in the forum's T&C.

(And you prefer to trust someone online? OMG?)

thought there's some agent here who open this thread .

no need to OMG , i do buy a property / sell stuff from online , why not ? since everythings is face to face meeting and get stuff . that's all . no harm too .
*
No this thread is not opened by an agent. We have extensively discussion about experiences and hazards of doing so online. There're real cases and in the first place ... this is a discussion forum not sales solicitation area ... there are other places to do so. You may have open a thread b4 in LYN and it is OK for you but not in here, I hope this is crystal clear and you do not create excuse to qualify yourself just because you are OK with it.

You are referring to savings/current account? - which you are asking in the wrong section or
You are talking about credit card account ?

Easy ... did you deposit RM250K into the CIMB Preferred account or did your dad did it ? If it is your dad, wouldn't it make sense for him to have control over his accounts and all of his sub accounts ?
