Just found this thread and seem like you guys sharing on the retention offer, so I'll share my case too.

Back in November 2013. I cancel out my CIMB CC. I went to one of the branch, but actually you only need to call CS to cancel. They say I'll just keep my card and officer will call me back for verification. So an officer call, but they only offer rm25 cashback. I decline the offer since GST is rm50. After few days, I did call CS to confirm card cancellation.

Week after, another officer call again to offer if I wanna re-activate the card. Offer GST waiver & Balance Transfer Plus (same as the Balance Transfer for new card, but BTPlus is by invitation only). Seem like a good deal...so another year with CIMB CC

Cash rebate only for 1st transaction even autopay for 6 months, i think we can get more rebate if pay using HLB Wise..can consider this for category not under HLB wise rebate
