GenX, all of the CIMB cards enjoy 0% interest installment for education and hospital? Gone thru your website but couldn't find these benefits in your article.
I thought of applying one CIMB cc for the BT purpose. All CIMB cc have 0% BT?

Is it true that you can get fast issuance of CIMB cc at the Card Centre at Menara Southern Bank, Plaza Damansara , Bukit Damansara? Anybody has tried?

Just found out from CIMB cc centre at Sunway Pyramid (tel:56316979) that they can issue cc within 1 hour.

Apart from the new CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum MasterCard, are there any other cards that offer better or similar 5% cash rebate for Ecommerce spend (like at Groupon, Airasia, Agoda)?
I think this card is good for E-commerce only and specific merchants. Considering getting one for airlines and groupon.

You should Consider HLB Wise Card, the Only Card that give You the Choice to Enjoy 10% Cash Back... smile.gif

Thanks I was going thru each CC thread to look for one good for e-commerce spend. Indeed HLB Wise card is a good choice that I am considering but must choose two categories wisely so that it does not overlap other cards.
Also worried to spread my spending over to too many cards and end up no bargaining power to ask for fee waiver upon card expiry.
CIMB CB platinum would be good just for e-commerce, groupon and airlines(<31/12/2013)

For the new promo "weekly rm250 cashback".
CIMB cashback Plat MasterCard is one of cards allowed to participate but since all transaction using this card will earn CB, this following condition will exclude ALL transactions:

(ii) transaction that earn double bonus points or cash rebate.

Anybody can confirm this?

Will DirectAccess MasterCard be eligble ?

18. There is a maximum of RM700,000 Cash Back to be given out throughout the
Campaign Period, capped at a maximum of RM70,000 for each Participating Week
on a first-come, first-served basis subject to availability.

19. The Cash Back will be awarded in accordance with the date of Eligible Transaction
cumulated by the Eligible Cardholder required under the Minimum Weekly
Transactions within the Participating Week captured by CIMB.

20. The Eligible Transaction(s) required under the Minimum Weekly Transactions must
be posted into the Eligible Cardholder’s Participating CIMB Card account by the 5th
day after each Participating Week.

Similar to CITI 30% CB, only that the first 280 will qualify but with a higher hurdle of RM1000.

And one of the T&C will exclude many transactions from qualifying:

(ii) transaction that earn double bonus points or cash rebate.

my idea is:

1. apply for new CIMB cash rebate platinum to get 50% cashback for first transaction (capped at RM250)
http://www.cimbbank.com.my/creditcard/inde...g=pm_list&ac=62

2. join the weekly cashback promo to get another RM250
http://www.cimbbank.com.my/creditcard/inde...g=pm_list&ac=65

3. item 1 & 2 above shall be done via online transaction with more than rm1000 so i can get another 5% (capped at rm50)

so the total of rebate here is RM550
*
Well this is an ideal plan. But one of the T&C will exclude many transactions from qualifying:

(ii) transaction that earn double bonus points or cash rebate.

Bill payment for telekom and TNB considered qualified retail transaction for the RM250 CB?

Which rm250 CB? The 50% 1st Transaction or the 'Dash for Cash' RM250 CB? And which CIMB card?

The killer is this condition:

Retail spending shall mean purchase transactions for goods and services incurred for
personal consumption and not for business purposes and shall not include betting or
gaming transactions. For the avoidance of doubt the following transactions are also
herein expressly excluded and shall not be treated as eligible retail transactions or
retail spending:-

(ii) Transactions that earn double bonus points or cash rebate;
(iii) Quasi Cash transactions – (example: betting and/or gaming transactions);
(vii) Transactions for payments made towards insurance premiums and/or
takaful contributions of any kind whatsoever; and

I think most cards give cash rebate so most transactions will be disqualified.

unless you do the transaction at 12.01AM on 12th aug next week. because the earlier the transaction, the better it is. it is based on the transaction date and time first, if it is tie, then it will be based on the spending amount, if tie again, then it will be based on the number of qualified transaction made by the customer
*
Was it mentioned in T&C that First-come-first-serve based on date&time and not just date? Based on transaction date or posted date?

Ron, maybe since it has so many restrictions that deter people from participating, it would be easy to get the CB.

today already 6.8.13 second day- i got one direct mail order spend RM1800, i just try my luck on this CIMB card.

That spend the most i can get from my other cards is only 0.5% , so  i throw the RM9.00 hoping to strike RM250. Not worth it meh?

JUst to find out, i called CS to find out the MCC code - She told me it
is 5968. Considered as  qualified retail transaction? at least that is what she said.......
*
For this case it is worth trying, so best of luck but u should have tried it next Monday that is if u can wait.
So which CIMB CC did u use ?

But this condition below will disqualify this type of transaction since it already enjoy CB.

So the CS said this transaction qualifies for the rm250 CB?

But your card already earns a 0.5% CB for this transaction and should not qualify if base on this condition:

Retail spending shall mean purchase transactions for goods and services incurred for
personal consumption and not for business purposes and shall not include betting or
gaming transactions. For the avoidance of doubt the following transactions are also
herein expressly excluded and shall not be treated as eligible retail transactions or

But then again no venture no gain.

Are you sure  my card no entitled for the RM250 CB?? 0.5% CB is the lowest basic rewards from any card..........
*
I am not sure but that was my interpretation of the T&C. It is also this condition that is holding me back from participating eventhough my hands are really 'itchy.
Unless I have a rm1000 transaction that doesn't earn more than 1% CB then I might give it a try.

Not many CIMB cards (if any) do not have CB features or Double Bonus.

Hi, I wanna apply CIMB cash back platinum mastercard and to have the 50% (max RM250) for the 1st transaction.
My question are:
1) The 50% rebate only applicable for application submitted at Gardens, KLCC, pavilion and sunway?
2) No other TnC as long as it is a transaction of purchase as I wanna buy a phone from a phone shop?
3) Can i get RM250 rebate for >RM1000 spend promotion, or it does not stack with 1st transaction rebate?
*
The best answer would come from the Call Centre in email reply (B&W).
My answers (to be verified):
1. Yes
2. 1st transaction
3. No CB from 'Dash for Cash Promo' (refer to my prev. post.)
