Anyone has experience with the CIMB Pay With Points? Will the outlet still swipe our card when paying with points? and are we able to check/verify the points used on the spot? Thanks

Between CIMB (normal line), Maybank (Amex line) and SCB (platinum line), i prefer dealing with CIMB customer care consultant. They seemed to be more well trained and efficient, imo.

Actually, I find that with CIMB's Pay With Points which includes merchants such as KFC, DOME, MPH and 'Thai-Group-Restaurants', the loss of cash vouchers is no big deal. In fact, it is less of a hassle rather than having to wait for the vouchers to arrive.

I think most of us can agree that even if we don't normally take fast food, we do buy KFC for our loved ones at some point in time...should not be to difficult for most of the seniors here (except tinkerbel if she has a CIMB CC) carrying CIMB/DA cards to deplete the points in this manner considering that it takes so long to accumulate points and at the same time, most of us would have switched to other cards as our primary one. As Gen-X said, only use if got promotion-lah such as the current 5% Kinokuniya books discount which ends on the last weekend of April 2011 (weekend being Fri, Sat & Sun). Speaking of which, I think I should  buy some reference books even though I do most of my reading from the computer - can get some income tax relief.
Hi, about the paying with points thing, will the outlet still swipe our card when paying with points? and are we able to check/verify the points used on the spot? Thanks

Just used this Pay With Points at Camel Active. Fyi, you can ask the outlet to check how many Bonus Points inside your card. And for payment, you need to swipe and the receipt which you have to sign will state the initial BP, used BP and the balanced BP. smile.gif

World Mastercard is entitled to Sunday Rebates and collect Bonus Points
Visa Infinite has 1% rebate on overseas, 0.5% rebate on local, Buy 1, Free 1 GSC movie ticket

Choices ... choices ....  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

Their CIMB Card Centre CS mentions you need at least RM70K Credit Limit from other banks to be entitled for CIMB WMC, VI or VS

I think the CL requirement for CIMB VS is lesser noting the annual income requiremnt is VS < VI < WMC, perhaps 40K would work.

CIMB team is quite efficient in dealing with emails. If everything is in order, probably less than 2 weeks.

Has anyone tried paying for KFC using the points from their CIMB/Direct Access CC? I am thinking of doing so.

Yes, it went smoothly. Just need to swipe you card, and then sign the receipt showing how many points redeemed and its balance.

may i know how u guys settle the credit cards bills? i just log in to my cimbclicks online account and there doesn't have the option to pay through there...either need to pay by cash deposit or cheque?

Maybank allow users to pay credit card statement through Maybank2u.

Apart from that, which branch you guys visit to redeem the points? can we do some purchase and pay by points?
*
Transfer fund to from your saving/current acc to your credit card acc. I think you can redeem points by calling their CS. Cimb has this pay-with-points thing to selected outlet. You may wanna check cimb website for the list of outlets

Transfer Funds to My CIMB Accounts

If your cards doesnt appear, perhaps you need to link it to your clicks first. Try contacting the CS to ask how to do so.
