DiGi has very poor 3G signal in almost all of my favorite shopping malls, like Mid Valley, Pavilion and else.

Sometimes even it shows good 3G signal, the speed is worse than EDGE, I can't even load a web page on my iPhone.

I can't wait to end my contract with DiGi and switch to Maxis, my friends using Maxis can download at 4mbps when I don't even has 3G signal.

Totally agree, Digi broadband is BAD! and the customer service too !

Recently I was recommended by Digi dealer to try Digi broadband service and advise me to buy a RM8.50 prepaid to use the max 5 package. After activated and within 56 seconds, the line was disconnected. After calling the customer service and was informed that there was no more money in the account, I can accept the line being terminated when there is no money in the account, BUT I cannot accept is why can't they charge 0.10 more so that the line can keep active and the user can continue to use the max5 package ? In short, my RM8.50 gone within a minute, this is daylight robbery!!! And the Digi dealer still has the gut to advise me to topup another RM10 to try, what a shame!!!

This kind of situation can only happen in Malaysia because the MCMC is sleeping and users "boleh" tahan !

Ask them to proof where did the excess went besides the RM5 used for daily internet.

They'll just tell you sorry sir for the inconvenience, if you want to further surf the internet tomorrow kindly top up another RM5.
There you go your RM5 just went zap for the day.

for the rm8.50, u need to topup at least rm 10 for continue use of services since rm3.5 is for the card, rm 5.00 is credit.
after u use rm 5, should be no more charge but still can use..for me i still can use...if u still left atleast some rm.

digi prepaid very tricky. must have some balance, . both internet and validity must active.
celcom prepaid. very simple. balance zero, validity already expire still can connected for a week. no worry auto renew..

DiGi is falling behind these days.

Their Smart Plan is no longer competitive because for RM68 per month you only get 3GB of data while the speed you're not even getting 1mbps most of the time.

Cost factor already out.
Speed factor also out
Technology also out with old HSDPA network

What's up with DiGi slacking these days?

I find Maxis and Celcom are spending big money to expand their network infrastructure to upgrade to new technology and improve their services, but what DiGi is doing? Their annual report shows they are not going to spend much on infrastructure in the following year.

You are already left behind yet you are not planning to improve, I am going to say bye bye to you

They might also say bye bye to us when they break even and collect back their investments made here.

The LTE scene now is overhyped in Malaysia.

Celcom is going LTE, uMobile is also, Maxis will eventually and even more surprising P1 Wimax is also slowly abandon their WIMAX for LTE.

your kampung mostly have GPRS.
GPRS = 48kbps
EDGE = 230kbps
3G UMTS = 384kbps

Digi have no money to upgrade all GSM tower to EDGE.

I'm getting inconsistent (Digi, what happen to your consistent ad??) speed, and timeout sometimes with my Prepaid Digi mobile broadband. Stayin in PJ.
If it's good, then I'll get a constant near to 50kb/s dl speed.

Whereby in Ipoh, Digi rawks.. (I think because not many uses mobile broadband over there), so I can easily get between 100 - 150kb/s dl rate, can even stream megavideo without lags!

in PJ, streaming a 320p youtube oso lag like turtle sweat.gif Digi, come on, where is your promise?? "At DIGI, consistency rules?"

ya man, I noticed it too recently..
I switched over to Digi because of the consistency thing. I don't mind if it's not as fast as Maxis or whatever.. but hey, it looks like Digi's losing it now..

My connection is even worst if I only switched to EDGE (2G, saves battery).

Come on, do something Digi! Else.. you know lar.. user like us these days can just swap to another provider anytime... rolleyes.gif

yea in the past i dont mind about speed as well, as long as consistent then 384kbps is more than enough for me, but somehow now is no longer there,.. best is using prepaid in broadband, as easier for us to move to new ISP if thing dont get better in digi,..

Please note that the maximum charge for Pay-As-You-Use Internet will be revised to RM8 per day effective from 1 June 2011 for all DiGi Prepaid plans.

For more savings, sign up for Internet Unlimited 3 (IU3) to enjoy Internet on your phone at RM3/day! Dial *116*2# to sign up now!

Internet Unlimited 15 still RM15/week.

IU3 and IU15 are subscription services, rather than pay-as-you-use (which is what I thought prepaid is about).

Those plans are fine is you need to use every day and are ok with the data quota, yet they are unsuitable or inconvenient / ma fan for intermittent user.

Digi getting suck each day... Are they busy digging their grave???? I have been getting inconsistent line lately... I am refering to my phone line which is needed for me to use my data plan... I have been using digi for 8 years now and never find it this bad... What a shame digi!!!

I called digi customer service more than 10times this year... Most of the complains was a mth or two ago where there is no line for a week at my home due to network tower issue... Damn.. So inconvenient... Yesterday called again, cust service suggest replace sim card at any digi store or dealer...

On sat night 21May2011 I reached Digi dealer (The Gadgets Shop Sdn Bhd, digital mall pj) at 8.55pm. I told the girl there I want to change sim card. The first thing she say, we are not digi store n cannot do that. Ask me to go to Sunway! I explain to her and she say cannot, we are close already. I asked, you have 5 more minutes. She replied my computer show it's 9pm already! What a suck service there! She think I stay in digital mall?

I am living in Ipoh. I subscribed a Digi Smart Plan RM68 (for Android) with 3GB quota per month. I use it for 2 month plus and I found that the speed it not consistent at any places I went around Ipoh. The speed is acceptable but having weird performance like being throttle by what media / content that's been download. Example like serving speed is average if the content is local (or maybe have local cache) but if the content was international speed is poor. Speedtest show very promising speed at 700-1000kbit/s download but when serving it seems much slower. Playback YouTube content show very inconsistent as it was playing smoothly with one video and the second video may be extremely lagging. Even when sometime (maybe peak hour) browsing speed became extremely slow but Android Market place can download app with speed (by reading the downloading figure) up to 200KByte/s (2Mbit/s). Because of the inconsistency of the connection I was not able to use more the 1GB of the given 3GB bandwidth even I try hard to use it (stay with mobile network even there's WiFi connectivity).

Ipoh is still good with Digi HSDPA network but users base will keep growing because of the rapid grow of SmartPhone market. Keeping up with the infrastructure is very important as more users will cause congestion of the network because the lag of bandwidth. And users are tide with the 2 years contract that they cannot terminate their plan even Digi provide poor quality service. That's sure will going to make lots of angry customer (good if it's Angry Bird). And hope Digi could consider removing any media base throttling if any before users exceeded their bandwidth cap.

hi scamboy

digi bb have habit dc when idle for x hours. not a big deal because my modem will auto connect itself. celcom bb no dc can stay with same ip for days.

digi using public ip while celcom using private ip.

celcom public ip is share no problem with digi never got your ip is downloading wait until finish.

Cheap 3G rates. No 3G operator can beat this.

Billing email notification not work.

Good bonuslink point. Free 3000 point during last pc fair.

Digi 3G coverage better than Umobile 3G. Umobile talk big with HSPA+ 42mbps within very limited coverage. .

DiGi's poor 3G network quality affect all 3G phones owner, as 3G phones always switch to 3G network when it is in the coverage and that leaves all the phones in the poor network services with frequent drop call and missing call.

That's sure will going to make lots of angry customer (good if it's Angry Bird). And hope Digi could consider removing any media base throttling if any before users exceeded their bandwidth cap.

Could you mention the modem brand and make which you're using?

If you're using the modem supplied by DiGi or your phone, very likely you'll only be restricted to the HSDPA network.

Have you tried it on a Huawei MIFi device or a HSUPA enabled modem?

I agree with you that DiGi network is weak in areas like Tambun and Ipoh Garden area because the residents there resisted the erecting of telecom towers over there. They have always been in opposition of microwave towers so the weak signal there is expected.

If you are mostly in Greentown, Ipoh Central(near Central Market), Jln. Pasir Putih speeds are good.

hi scamboy

digi bb have habit dc when idle for x hours. not a big deal because my modem will auto connect itself. celcom bb no dc can stay with same ip for days.

digi using public ip while celcom using private ip.
The auto disconnect is true. Even about 5 mins if no activity it AUTO DISCONNECT on you. It happens more often and idling time shortens during peak hours.

Very troublesome if your dialer doesn't auto reconnect on demand, because you need to re-click to reconnect.

but for only RM38 per month and no extra charges when you use more than your quota, not too bad right?

now I am just concerned about the coverage/reliability of digi's 3g in KL/PJ. hmm.gif

forget maxis. what the point superfast 3 - 5mbps for speedtest ego only ? after finish quota limit crying no internet.

even celcom just limit up to 1.4mbps only without slow after usage limit quota.

about digi coverage, use good quality modem + hi-gain panel external antenna. not magnetic base type. that one suck.

Yup, rm38 makes Discover Day cheapest 3G. Plus it no contract, can cancel anytime. Really worth. smile.gif

I am using a HTC phone. And I am around Jalan Pasir Puteh. The speed is not slow but inconsistent. Sometime it can load some YouTube video but sometime would be too slow to do that. Sometime Facebook also can't loaf but generally it still usable.

Have been using DiGi voice and internet plan for close to 5 years (used to be on Data Unlimited 68, now on DiGi Smart Plan), the connection dropping have been very frequent nowadays in some areas, I noticed it started since DiGi launched the iPhone 4. Guessing its because of network congestion, as the connectivity is perfectly stable in some areas (sadly not the area that I am in most of the time).

Thinking of switching to other telcos, as its frustrating to want to surf something on my phone, and every 5 minutes I get disconnected for like 30 seconds and have to wait. Celcom and Maxis is expensive for my profile though, since I don't call that much.

How's Umobile? I know the coverage is not as good, but I am in Klang Valley most of the time anyway, if they can give me a stable 3g data connection, I will switch.

Don't mean to be prude but LTE is overhyped here? Are you kidding me mate? You are like what from the stone age or something?

WE NEED LTE TO KEEP UP WITH TIMES! OTHER COUNTRY HAD ALREADY DEPLOYED THEIRS AND HERE YOU ARE SAYING ITS OVERHYPED...GEEZ

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway I do agree that DiGi 3G is F%#*!!! I am in Kepong and Coverage is like crap. Even when I crap in the washroom its much better than what DiGi has to offer.

DiGi buck up or step out and don't waste those bandwidh, better off given to realiable operators.

I don;t mind if it goes Edge on me, but even with 3G, I can barely go into Facebook or Google sometimes, at the end, I go back to Streamyx which is working damn well, but the down side is that, no mobility.

This is really the right place for me to release my ANGER!!!!!!

DIGI...........SUCKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I signed up for Digi Broadband last year October, couldn't use it at all,
made complaint 3 times at the digi centre, called their customer service, technical service, room service, whatever service you can named, even changed the modem, still didn't work.

March this year i finally cancelled the service, not without a big fight with Digi. They want me to settle the bill first but i argued why should i pay for the service which i DIDN'T use? By right Digi should compensate me for all the inconvenience they have caused me! I needed the internet service while i was on the road for business!!!! I ended up looking for places with free wifi, what a nightmare! Then i have to take time off from work to visit the Digi centre in Time Square, spent on a lot on parking as well. Wasted time and money!!!!!

I told them straight off I wouldn't pay, not because of the money, because of your fxxking lousy service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After a long argument finally they cancelled my broadband service. Ok, here comes the climax, 2 weeks after cancellation, i received calls from Digi debt collector saying i owed them RM200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ladies and gentleman, I am writing to consumer tribunal to complaint the hell out of Digi, and i will spend the rest of my life, whenever i am free or have the opportunity, to tell people about my extremely horrified experience with Digi. I will make use of all the social media available on planet Earth to tell the WORLD how poor a service and how unreasonable their people and policies are.

And Yes, I wanted to do the same thing, I want to cancel ALL my Digi lines (now having 4 post paid line registered) and switch to Celcom.

Would like to add more disappoinment with Digi:

Sign up with the HTC legend Smart plan last year.
RM68 for unlimited broadband every month.

When took up this plan did ask about the monthly RM50 commitment plan for phone calls. Was told yes we can have RM68(smart plan) + RM50 phone calls plan.

Only today was told NO I cannot have 2 package for one line because of the HTC phone plan. If I want to have the Smart plan and phone plan then I will have to have 2 numbers. One for Smart plan and the other for phone plan.

I was like ..... Seriously who will want 2 numbers with 2 different plans? If this the case then why use smart phone?

Best thing is I only realised this after one year when I look at my monthly bill. Lol. Seriously DIGI need to look into all this miscommunications. Why ask customer where do we purchase the phone and sign up the plan? Aren't all the shop under DIGI should be selling the said product to all customers?

I was really dissapointed with the CS too. When I said I wanted to post and complaint, he did mentioned pls do so.. I was like .... lolz

Any DIGI CS here? Would like to hear your comment and please enlighten us with all your do's and don'ts please.

Yeah, this is what the technician told me also after I complain and complain.

But when you can't get license and you already know you are oversubscribed, you should stop making so much marketing effort to get more subscribers!

exactly, DiGi is offering subsidised smart phones and tempting plans when their network already creaking under the weight of data usage

they should be selling us cheaper calls and sms instead

Digi 3G speed became explosion fast at Ipoh. Been at Pengkalan area. Now I can even play Youtube 720P video with it (Digi SmartPlan 3GB for RM68 per month). Last 2 month speed was not consistent at all and suddenly this few days it was insanely fast. I put a speedtest (speedtest.net) at the end.
I hope this kind of speed can last and I will be Digi loyal customer for a long time.

16GB wasn't going to be enough in this kind of speed. I used up 1GB of my 3GB allow bandwidth in 1 hour watching latest tech new in YouTube channel playing 720P quality. But I am still very happy that Digi actually improved their 3G network in Ipoh area. Maybe they (Digi) have people watching this thread. I hope that they will improve other area too so that this thread will became positive in Digi service. Finally this month I can get to use up all 3GB bandwidth that allocated to me. Thanks.

Last few day still can have 5Mbps speed but now no more. Come back to the old slow and inconsistent speed. Come to think of it as the days that I can reach 5Mbps with Digi is before 15th of the month. Maybe at those few days most Digi subscriber at my area had finish using their bandwidth while I almost never use it. At the end of the quota cycle I can download extreme fast as no one is using the service (throttle down because of over quota).

just changed to Digi from Maxis for few days already
quite disappointed for the speed, as my previous Maxis is always 3Mbps++,
now Digi only 1Mbps & not stable...
it is quite big difference on smoothness in browsing with my galaxy s!

i have been experiencing either very low connection(Edge) or maybe none. This has been very frustrating following these 3 months. Previously was good, i have HSPDA connection with loading google just in mere seconds or facebook in 10 seconds ...

anyone living in PV12, setapak? what happened there?

Oh, shiet. My heart was already set on buying SGS2 from Digi Smartphone plan before stumbling on this thread. Now, need to think about all over again. Before this keep hearing about the limited coverage but speed quite consistence so I thought I can live through that. Now..even the speed and all the problems. Guess I'll just buy it from Celcom then since Maxis always overcharged from what I've heard and read.

True. They continue to sell without increasing their capacity. It's like you can only have 100 people using it but you now have like 150 people using and yet you continue to sell it by lowering the price

What happened to DiGi recently?

It's like they have halt expansions and upgrades. But somehow they have the best coverage now in my area with the most up to date HSPA network.

Seem like they have slowed down and keeping things mum.

When you're focusing on just selling and no longer interested in expansion it shows signs of skepticism.

Meaning you only want to recover investments and have no long term strategy.

The thread starter is too polite. I ported my Maxis line to Digi last year. I can say the quality of Digi network is beyond disappointing. I'm planning to go Celcom beginning of next year.

Hot News:

1. for those people who lived in shah alam perhaps received slower speed around 128kbps and below.

2. this is because a high density of digi internet user; both for postpaid and prepaid.

3. thus, digi currently doing an infrastructure upgrade from 9th december - 23rd december.

4. i know it from 2nd level CS department.

5. if the speed still liddat after 23rd december, i'm going to ditched my DiGi Internet Prepaid rm100/100 days because its due on 26th december.

6. hence, perhaps i will look upon other option; Celcom Instanet rm30/months for the first months and rm50/month afterwards would be suffiecient choice

Digi was usually quite good at Ipoh. After reading this thread I did a speedtest to confirm the matter myself. I did the speedtest using my Android smartphone with Digi SmartPlan RM68 with 3GB bandwidth which I had used 1GB.

DiGi may be starting their round of LTE upgrades.

The project will start commencing from their DiGi House in Subang Hi-Tech to other parts of the country soon.

I compared my DiGi 68 line with my friend's Celcom 58 line by downloading an app from the Android Market.

By the time he finish I'm still stuck at less than 10%, thanks DiGi. Now planning to pay the termination fee to end my suffering, what a load of horse cr** to be honest.

Maybe after 2012 things will be better after the upgrade.

DiGi is promising fibre like speeds OTA after the LTE upgrade.

I believe slow downs are caused by signal tower overload, because digi have just enough towers to cover the area, but not concentrated, so when too many users connect to the same tower, the tower sure overload and line sure become unstable...

in my area, as the tower here only covers about 3 taman and no extra crowded places, speed and stability rocks here.

My conversation with customer was interrupted for 3 times in 1 day thanks to DIGI TURBO 3G NETWORK. Talk awhile then call drop and i am standing outside the building during the conversation.

Somemore said they have completed the upgrade to LTE - Ready network in Subang Jaya thus will improve quality, coverage and stability. Totally bullshit. My line keep dropping from 3G ->EDGE -> GSM for dono how many countless time everyday.

Damn pissed off

In case anyone missed it, there will be service disruptions in the specified areas at the scheduled times throughout Dec all the way to end 2012. Areas adjacent to the specified upgrade locations may also suffer service degradation during the scheduled times.

After complaining for 2months++, finally they fix the coverage problem with my house. However, it does seem like they are downgrading. Although I can get signal in lower floor of my house now compared to being totally off, its only 3G and not HSDPA. So the speed is like very very slow. Maybe faster than EDGE. It helps with calls but with data, headache.

Still have to bear with it for 6months before my contract ran out.

hahha, If Digi want to upgrade their facilities, why must let the user suffer during the upgrading?

user pay same money every month for less/interrupt services. Not fair right?

Dont you agree Digi to provide discount for customer?

Yea, from what I know is that DiGi is currently upgrading their network.

http://www.digi.com.my/tomorrownetwork/

they are not only upgrading their tower to LTE, but also improving their network to be more consistent and stable. (just like building the highways broader and broader, instead of building new highways)

Whats the point of having a wider road when the road does not even connect to the road you are on?

coverage has always been an issue for digi and ever since maxis changed their equipment to huawei, they are also having similar issues.

Fix coverage, then only concentrate on fixing speeds.

Hey there, its not unconnected, just that traffic jam due to overflow of traffic to the same location. Thats why they came up with broader road/highway to smooth up the traffic. =) This is what I heard from my friend working at digi

LTE 4G is about speed not about coverage. LTE will using 2.6ghz. Just wait and see.

What digi need to improve the coverage is 3G 850mhz. Celcom & Maxis have better 3G coverage after enable dual band 3G 900/2100mhz nationwide.

“DiGi has only 4MHz of the 900MHz spectrum band while its rivals, Celcom Axiata Bhd and Maxis Communications Bhd, have 34MHz and 32MHz respectively.” - malaysianwireless.com

Just wanted to share my experience with DiGi's customer service. I had been having issues with their cellular reception in many areas in KL and PJ, as well as almost non-existent mobile internet service pretty much everywhere I went. After lodging a complaint with the MCMC and CFM to coax DiGi into responding, I am pleased to share that I have no issues with how their customer service responded. It was prompt, it was clear, and it was truthful:

"Dear Zul,

Thank you for your email.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

With reference to your email, please be informed that we have checked the location on the sites which you have provided. Kindly find below the outcome based on the kind of Indoor signal strength;

1. Jln Persiaran Kewajipan, USJ19 47620: 3G Indoors
2. Jalan SS 7/15 Kelana Jaya 47301 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia: 3G Indoors
3. Usj 4, 47600 Subang Jaya, Selangor: 3G Indoors
4. Persiaran Bukit Kiara, Bukit Kiara, 50490, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: 3G Indoors (partially)
5. Lingkaran Syed Putra, 59200 Mid Valley City, Lingkaran Syed Putra, Kuala Lumpur: 3G Indoors
6. Kj14 Damansara - Puchong Highway, 47300 Petaling Jaya, Kelana Jaya: 3G Indoors
7. No 1 , Jalan Dutamas 1, 50480 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur: 3G Indoors (partially)
8. Jalan Rimba Riang 9/15 Kota Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya, Selangor: 3G Indoors (partially)

As you can see that all the above locations have Indoor 3G coverage. However, please note that subscribers living in locations covered by partial Indoor 3G signal will experience fluctuation in signal and coverage issues. We truly apologize that we will not be able to provide the exact date for this coverage issue to be resolved as we have not yet received any updates regarding these sites from our area planner. We assure, you that we are continuously striving to enhance the coverage throughout Malaysia. We will appreciate your support in the meantime.

We seek your patience and understanding in the said matter.

If you have further enquiries, kindly visit www.digi.com.my or provide feedback using our Online Customer Service.

Thank you."

A diplomatic response, I would say. However, I find it quite laughable that the email is essentially telling me "Yes, we are crap and we know it. And we really have no reason to deny or explain why we are so crappy, but we are still hoping that you will support us in the meantime."

DiGi, DiGi, DiGi...doesn't anybody vet your customer service emails before they get sent out? It's okay to admit your mistake, but to confirm that you're absolute crap? Anyways, I want to thank you, DiGi. You have effectively given me no reason whatsoever to renew my (regretfully) 2-year contract when it expires. For all DiGi's promises and talk about 4G or LTE migration, having to attempt 10 calls before I get connected is just inexcusable in this day and age. Sure, upgrade to all the new tech that you want, but as a customer, I have totally lost faith in you, DiGi. Migrating from MAXIS was a big freaking mistake, and I would rather port to Celcom or back to MAXIS instead of you. For all I care, DiGi could bring Steve Jobs back from the dead, I would still remain with other telcos.

RIP DiGi...your customers deserve so much better. rclxms.gif

Well, to be fair, lately I find that DiGi 3G coverage has been improving quite a lot especially in area where it was really poor previously like my own house in Kepong along MRR2, as well as in Setapak (near Kenny Rogers).

But, even though the service improved, speed remained a big issue. For normal browsing, it was not a problem but Facebook is quite slow and worse, streaming is impossible.

I dont have a LTE phone (except for my wife 4S) and for the price I paid when I signed up for 2 years contract (RM68), Maxis would be my choice. At most, I only get 120kB/s when I placed my phone near the window but Maxis can get between 300-600kB/s anywhere around my house. Definitely disappointing... Still had to wait until July before my contract finally over...

One thing i quite dislike with digi is their CS department...like didnt know how to treat and retain a frustrated customer...

One more thing is they like very "kedekut"...they will not easily compensate even for their crap...u want to req refund also dificult even you already begging with them...

Compare to maxis if you want you can call them and raise your voice and for sure they will compensate you if there have an issue with their network...they know how to retain customer...no wonder they always become winner for the call centre thropy...

Nowadays.. Digi is getting poor man.. I dont know if its cos of me using ipad1 which is not supporting the full 3G spectrums. But reception is poor. (it used to be OK)

Really sucky.

Changing to maxis is an option, but it's slightly more $$ but it also can't go into VPN (and thus I can't go into my workplace network)

Umobile reception is not as great either, and $ for the quota. Digi is still Cheapest. (caveat Loh...)

Digi is just plain crap and utter nonsense if someone says that Digi's 3G is doing great right now. It used to be great a year back, things were smooth and speed is fast. For the past half a year, this has been a great disappointment. To imagine I actually took 3GB of data for my Galaxy SII, with how bad the 3G is on Digi right now, I am barely using more than 500mb.

Connections just fluctuates every time from HSDPA to Edge to nothing and goes back to Edge and later on goes back to nothing. I'm really surprise when I call up the Customer Service and they were like not knowing anything bout this when I've been hearing so many comments about how crap the 3G is recently.

Tried to go back to Maxis but the contract that I'm tied up with Digi is holding me back with more than 17 months remaining. Everyone must be tired of how Digi is doing that they don't bother to call up the Customer Service and just use it as it is ..

I agree on the signal fluctuation issue. It seems like you can only get stable 3G/HSDPA connection in the morning around 6am maybe until 9am. It is not possible to get stable 3G/HSDPA connection during night time in Puchong, which is the time that I normally use it at home. Even Edge connection sometimes drops once in a while. I'm on 3GB data plan too, was very happy few months back, now a totally different story.

Yaloh, DiGi HSPA connections are very unstable nowadays.

Just leave your connection idle for few minutes and it'll kick you out due to heavy congestion.

It's almost impossoble to make calls around Pasir Putih area in Ipoh now thanks to the new opening of AEON mall. Calls keep getting dropped due to overcongestion of the nearby base station.

Holy cow...credit where credit is due:

I actually got a call from their customer service rep updating me on the situation regarding DiGi's upgrading works, specifically for Kota Damansara. For the record, call quality has been okay for now, but calling apartments (USJ area) still requires a few attempts to get through (sometimes), as well as the call itself will disconnect/go silent and disconnect during conversation.

And yes, DiGi admitted to encountering major technical difficulties in their upgrading works (it will only be fully completed at the end of quarter 2, which means June). But what caught me by surprise is that they actually offered me a RM30 discount in my bill until the upgrade is complete. This was definitely the right thing to do, and the discount was acceptable to me. Hence, I accepted in good faith, her apology for the poor signals because of the upgrade, as well thanked DiGi for the compensation.

Looking forward, I cannot say for sure whether DiGi's signal and reception for calls and 3G internet will greatly improve in future. But at least, a complaint sent to the MCMC will "motivate" them to do the right thing by offering compensation. Heck, maybe DiGi DOES monitor this thread after all? wink.gif

Either way, now until June will be a critical period for me as a DiGi user (and probably a lot more other DiGi users too)... to leave DiGi now, later or never?

Wow, Im surprised you get the discount cos I even asked for it for my Smart Plan (Stupid Plan) due to inconsistent speed and poor signal but was brushed aside. After few months, it did improved but the speed didnt. Used to get 1mbps but now even 700kbps is really not possible. Will be switching over to Maxis once my contract expires in June. I dont care if Digi had LTE because its not the price that matters, its the experience. If they are like shit with 3G, I really wonder if LTE gonna make any difference. Just like U Mobile. Although Im happy with their streaming speed, browsing and download speed is way way off. You could be streaming at 800kB/s but download usually run at 100-200kB/s. Maxis meanwhile always exceed 300kB/s upto 600kB/s.

You say the DiGi what LTE open quota already? But today I check the quota function thingy is back, and my speed is now limited... Normally before hit quota I get 100Kbps download speed, now I get 10Kbps download speed, WTF...? Coverage poor, speed poor, I want to change already argh!!! I think if there are no quota limit, I will be continue using it. But...

LOL, dude, I have to say you get the award for funniest term used on the thread! biggrin.gif "Smart Plan (Stupid Plan)" is 100% accurate and blardy funny man lol. Actually, the Smart Plan (Stupid Plan) could have been successful, if only DiGi had put a limit on its number of customers or embarked on their ambitious "Tomorrow Network" upgrade before it became congested. As it turns out...yep, Smart Plan (Stupid Plan) describes it best, especially when the consumers realise that they can't even reach the quota because the speed is so slow!

I don't know what exactly I did right in my complaint to MCMC to "earn" my discount from DiGi, but I can tell you that I indicated as many major areas as possible which had call and internet connection issues, right down to the postcode, man! Maybe the areas I indicated hit a nerve with DiGi?

And part of the reason I was willing to wait to terminate my DiGi line is because I didn't want to give DiGi more money than is necessary (RM150 to terminate after getting tired of crappy service? Go to hell!!!). But with one whole year to go (2013 could not come sooner!), at a cost of RM 108/month minimum (DiGi Biz 50 + Supplementary 10 + Internet 48), I found myself reconsidering: Is it really worth the heartache to pay RM 1,296 for an entire year of DiGi's dropped calls, intermittent reception and unacceptable internet speeds? Come June 2012, when this supposed upgrade for the areas I complained about is completed, I guess I will have my clearest answer.

For the rest of DiGi's long suffering customers, I'll bet they already have their answer too! smile.gif
