Unlikely, Toshiba units are often more expensive for the same specs.... and now it comes with harman/kardon, it'll be even more expensive  laugh.gif
Perhaps 1.6-1.7k?  hmm.gif
*
No la probably rm1299-1399.. Acer ao522 is rm1149 and Asus 1015b is rm999 only.. It's a C-50 after all..

I saw the K43SV at SG here, the keyboard is just like Sony laptop. But no idea for the silver 1...  hmm.gif

A43Sv in Malaysia has the exact same keyboard @.@
K = A.. I even showed pictures in a thread last time to prove it..

Maybe you can look at dell XPS also?

Yeah, apparently the keyboard flex is one of the Asus N53's biggest setback.. but other than that, everything's good  laugh.gif
Even my old Qosmio F60 has keyboard flex, its hard to avoid it because of the long length of the keyboard when the keypad is included  nod.gif
Well Nvidia's GT550M is significantly better than the GT540M... and the N53Sn is the only one having the GT550M at the moment, which makes it the best laptop for this category at the moment...
If you don't game a lot, I guess there's no real need for the GT550M, where you can go for other 15" models like HP Dv6, Acer 5750G, Dell XPS 15, N53Sv, MSI GE620  nod.gif

I'm not very sure about this, but it seems there are 2 variants of A43Sv (i5-2410) as well, one with 1GB, 1 with 2GB  rclxub.gif
Anyway, bro you're based in Singapore? What laptop are you looking for at the moment? Manage to find an Acer TimelineX 3830T/TG>?  drool.gif
*
Hp-dv6 is much stronger in gaming than N53Sn =P.. hD6770 gddr5 is class 1 GPU ler.. Comes with Beats Solo headphone worth rm899.. If sell it off for rm700 your laptop is just rm2999 =P.. Rm3k gaming laptop yo

I thought it's only A53Sv which have the 1gb/2gb GPU variant?

Uh, hey guys. Need a little help here. I need a laptop that has these specifics:

a) Around the price range of RM 2000-2300

b) 15.6 inches for the L.C.D. monitor

c) Is able to play the current games(as far as 2 years into the future).

Also, a Dell or an Acer? Please recommend me some suggestions.
*
Ur closest choice would be asus A53Sv @rm2399, 540M would be quite sufficient to play any current games with medium settings..

Thanks for the input smile.gif
how does it compare to  N53SV please?

heard that this 2 is current hot selling lappy...is it true?
*
Specs almost the same.. Well one is 15.6 inch and 600-700g heavier and another is 14inch around 2.18kg only..
N53Sv has better speakers but keyboard has flex problems and it's not chiclet style.. 4830TG sturdier keyboard and longer battery life.. n53sv is rm100 more expensive.. Both have generally same specs..

I think 4830TG more hot selling, not much places have stock..

HP DM1Z not available in KL yet.

1215B E-350 not available for the 12.1" form-factor.
I guess Asus Malaysia is pushing the lower spec C-50 option first.

Only K43U-VX006 (AMD E-350 2.1G/1MB L2 Cache, 2G DDR3 RAM, 320G HDD, ATI 6310, 14" LED)
Price is pretty attractive - RM1199 No OS
*
A forumer already got the new dm1z for rm1440 from Pc fair.. Even got pictures posted in the dedicated thread lol..

Yes, Asus mainstream laptops all are international warranty... 2 years by default.. 3 years is because of PC Fair promotion probably... Asus EeePC netbooks classes are all 1 year international warranty instead...

Pricelist updated for Samsung models:

Samsung
SF411, i3-2310M + Intel HD3000@RM2699
RF411, i5-2520M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2999
QX412, i5-2520M + Nvidia GT520M@RM3299

New kids on the block~ But seems abit too expensive despite the relatively stronger i5-2520M  hmm.gif
*
The QX412 weighs only 2.05kg and up to 9 hours battery life drool.gif Good choice for ppl who wants a slim 14 inch n long battery life but not much into gaming..

Looks like a contender for the Asus U41Sv  laugh.gif
Edit: Damn its way slimmer than the U41Sv, way, way slimmer!  wub.gif
But its running on a 6-cell battery iinm? 9 hours is very impressive  thumbup.gif
*
Can't seem to find review for it though..

Wow it has the fast start feature lets you resume from hibernate in 3 seconds @.@

I thought only the Samsung 9 series with SSD could do that...

I think he would insist on U41Sv, GT520M is still a lot weaker than GT540M after all...

Marketing strategy indeed but, from what I understand, playing games in larger reso comes in handy when you have extra memory. Well, maybe then, this move is meant for those who wants to hook their lappy with an external screen which have a larger reso.
So I'm assuming that watching 1080p movies or playing games in a fullHD TV won't be a big problem.
*
Well, that's why we have been saying it's overkill for such a GPU... Playing games in higher resolution as in 1080p? GPU like 540M is only a Class 2 GPU, playing games in 1080P would be killing its limits already, that's why the extra vRam won't really help at all...

i just realize that there is a msi 14" lappy that comes with amd e350..
isnt that will be slow or something??  hmm.gif
coz in my head amd e350 is only for 13" n below..ha3..  biggrin.gif
*
Haha.. There's quite a few 14/15 inchers with it cause it's catered for the budget users cause of the cheap price tag.. Imagine getting a full size laptop which can watch HD movies for 1.2k lol..
Performance would be the same as other E-350? Since it's the same thing lol just screen size different
