hmm.. maybe the keyboard flex cuz the air intake like some1 here mention to me is under the keyboard itzself? soo nid air space for air flow but the designers didnt put thrust bars between the space?
if soo i would still prefer it under my keyboard.. if they draw the air from the speakers then our B&O wouldnt be B&O..
why cant designers draw air from the front side not under the laptop/keyboard/speakers? and blow em out behind.. putting em on the left side always feels toasty for my left hands(if not typing)?
*
hmm.gif really?

sometimes i find it more hot at the right side of the palm rest though...

QUOTE(aquest @ Apr 5 2011, 10:39 PM)
was told that asus has revised downwards the prices of n53sn/v and a53sv by rm200 effective monday, 4/4/11. so the rrp of n53sn and n53sv r now rm3299 and rm2599 respectively. after further discount, the n53sn should be able to get it for between rm3150 and rm3199.

QUOTE(Trance4eva @ Apr 23 2011, 11:53 PM)
Seriously...is this your first laptop??
The design is made to reduce/hide thumbprint. Compared to my previous laptop........it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay worst. I just placed one finger there for 1 sec and i can see my own thumbprint clearly.

Anyway if u wan to clean the laptop, i suggest you to buy a LCD cleaning kit worth RM8. The box is green colour and i think the brand is EXPERT. It comes with a special cloth that removes thumb prints and smudges really effectively.

haha~ yeap its my 1st laptop sweat.gif

i used to rely on the pc

For me, without the Sonic Master, the internal speakers somehow becomes a mono speaker so the DFX only helps abit.
But Sonic Master + DFX audio enhancer = Legendary  thumbup.gif
If off any one of them, can hear really really big diff.
I recommend Sonic Master + Winamp +DFX audio enhancer "ahem" version(plugin for winmap) for everyone

Old winamp got better enhancer  shocking.gif  does it work with the latest

any big difference on the bass?

QUOTE(Trance4eva @ Apr 26 2011, 11:35 PM)
for bass, theres is but not much. Still u can set the DFX audio enhancer settings. If u wan more bass can put the HyperBass to MAX! laugh.gif  but i think it will spoil ur speaker.
But seriously the DFX really helps for me. It somehow add 3D sound/better surround sound.
If u connect the laptop to an external 2.1 chnl speakers, its gonna be really awesome with DFX + Sonic Master  thumbup.gif
*
hmm gotta try it out since u all made it sound gooding laugh.gif

QUOTE(springfall @ Apr 28 2011, 12:50 AM)
Hi all SN users juz asking a few ques
1-do u guys use readyboost by inserting and leaving an sd card in the sd slot like forever?will it do any harm? i run reddyboost on mine and loading stuff is faster(-lag).
2-when u open any media player, does ur cd player run (make some sound)
3-hav any 1 used all 8 core and threads (100% core usage) on gaming no stress test, cuz is unreal. cuz i never seems to be able to achieve that to test full heat stress
4-the recent updates when u updated from windows caused a problem in shutting down. do u guys hav probs shutting down?

Temperature tests for new buyers - Heat Problems for SN in real life usage test <not stress tests>
}I hav run air intake tests, and found the lap draws more air under the laptop than keyboards..truly strange even wif design guess from MBP keyboard intake..
  3 steps details are that 1) 40cm stand fan blow and 22 inch floor fan blow-40-41c, 2) floor fan blow-42c, 3) stand fan blow-44c 4)no fan-46c
conditions- 1)blowing same speed at a close proximity, no more than 15cm from vents and keyboard 15 min 2) under stress load of 5%-15% 3) room temp of 15c
temp recordings are that temps are >48c n <54c min under 15% load (can't record on games.. hard to play in that state)
temp are 40c sometimes 37c under idle mode blowing for 15 mins 2 fans
}3 cores running at 50% and 1 core running at 20% for 10 min recorded 71c max  under room temp of 17c and no fans blowing no cooler pad
programs using= 5 mozilla tabs open, zipping a 12gb file, msn, skype, win live mail, and halfway editing doc on PShop cs5 32bit running simultaneously for 8 mins
4gb ram stock, 12gb redyboost (3x4gb) and disk page file of 8 gb
>advice, focus blow ur 2 vents on the right bottom facing up, major air intake; 25 cm away from any objects for air circulation

Core Temp 0.99.8 is used for data collection "running in room temp of 15c min to 19c max" not air cond, natural night air in sydney."
juz improvise the room temp or malaysia's temp or air conds
summery results
those who are asking about the temperature probs of sn, if u are going to play games on loads of 60% on a cooling pad most likely ur comp aint hot enuf to rot ur mob
note, i run COD MW2 on full graphics settings on display res 1366x768 with AA- 16x override, full shaders override, 4 pre rendered frames and no fram sync,
temps didnt run hot, juz slightly warm on palm rest, core usage was on >40%, temps were below 90c playing duration 4 hours, 17cm fan diameter jack up 8 cm.
running app pile up made my comp run at 88c by then u get laggy for full memory usage
unless u run 70% for 8 hours or more then u may have a heat prob (by rough estimation)

SN-No great heat problems noted in tests, unless the vents are clogged with dusts and breadcrumbs
cheers and happy buying next week!

Well, even though the N53n is EOL-ed already... here's notebookcheck's review of the unit  laugh.gif
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Asus-N...ok.52431.0.html

Quoted from the website:
Pro

+ Appealing design and workmanship
+ Good connectivity (BluRay)
+ Stable case and extendability
+ Convincing office performance
+ Good 3D performance (GT 550M)
+ Quiet cooling system in idle
+ Always cool surfaces
+ High-end speakers including software

Contra

- Interfaces mainly in the front area
- Glossy display with a low resolution
- Average display measuring rates
- Fan runs permanently
- Short battery runtimes

LOL, they din't mentioned anything about the keyboard flexes  laugh.gif
