I was thinking to upgrade RAM.....now i dunno rclxub.gif
*
well if im getting it and if itz really 2x2 gb ram 1333 mhz, i would get 2x4 gb 133mhz rams slots for mine and place them in the indicated channel slots for optimum usage of the rams.. rams are getting cheaper, juz w8 few more months sure drop as ddr4 comming.. icon_idea.gif
there shud be 4 dimms with 2 one pair n another 2 one pair, 2x2 goes on 1 pair, 2x4 goes on another pair.. then u get better channel usage

is booting up that slow?
pple complaining asus bloatware's slowing down..? wanna c for myself...

hmmm maybe i add 2x4gb or 2x2gb.....depends on the price this coming PC Fair

Booting is slow due to all kinds of crap Asus preinstalled. Asus kinda installed too much program and most of them are trials and useless. Also the Asus drivers are having problems. Ex some time when you delete a program (most prob Asus program) the driver kinda got "uninstalled".
Seriously as said by many ppl....Asus best hardware and worst software. Thats why must reformat to factory default biggrin.gif

I don't think games really effect the boot up time as it's not started during startup. 40-60 sec normal. 70-110 sec really got something wrong. Have you reformat???
Btw my boot up time is somewhere around 54 sec biggrin.gif

1st time when i start my laptop....theres a lot of bloatwares. After reformat, still got la but not as many as the 1st time...weird shakehead.gif . Some stuff was missing and I take it as a good sign thumbup.gif
Reformat better cause it cleans up everything specially your registry and your HDD is not fragmented. If you delete there always still a residue....which can be remove by some 3rd party software. For me i prefer reformat cause it will make your laptop "fresh" and "new". I manage to get 45 sec the last time i reformat and Kyozen managed to get 23 sec....which i dunno how he got it.

@trance4eva
i got 23sec is using manual handphone timer, but when i use boot time software they stated 29sec haha...

@empire177
seriously,
1) go do backup dvd

2) reformat (can refer how to do backup and factory reset in asus manual book)

3) delete useless bloatwares http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/38068...ware-guide.html

optional ( do backup registry file and clean error registry entry by using CCleaner)

4) uninstall ATK and reinstall back (dunno why some fn key will nt work after uninstall some bloatwares, after reinstall working fine again)

5) use msconfig to unable some useless startup

6) install 'Windows Performance Tool
Download WPT: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/performance/cc752957
Instructions from sarf2k4 (at the bottom): http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1606856/+1940#entry40319554

7) Use Asus Fast boot to delay some program startup

then you could enjoy around 2X ~ 4X sec boot up time

ps. thx to all sifus in this forum who share and guide to achieve fast boot up time rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Lol yea kinda true...the boot timer not that accurate, but nearly. Cause when the message pops up after you log in windows, you have to click Run fast cause the time is still running. Only when you click it then it will stop. I tried paying with it and i got 200sec boot up time just for not clicking Run fast enough biggrin.gif

oh yea you forgot one more thing
7) Use Asus Fast boot to delay some program startup....although msconfig can also do this but I prefer Asus fast boot somehow laugh.gif
