I have a micro sim in iPads 3G n was wondering if i can send out SMS via my sim. I googled and found swirlysms, but wold it work with maxis?

i just tried with heywire, sending and receiving sms to and from iphone and other phones went smoothly no problem, and my ipad is wifi version only no 3G .

Is it free??? I just tried on my iphone but how do i know free or not? lol

Install sbsetting from Cydia to control la

new ios have the function to disable data only and your 3G data will not work when you enable this setting . other option is to use sbsetting.

maybe can try viber? new version of viber not only allow u to use data plan/wifi to call but also can sms

the apps is free but limited to iOS only...other OS not supported

so we send the sms out to other phone is free of charge. Then how about if other ppl wan to reply us ? Will they be charged ??

heywire don't allow sms'ing in msia anymore, it only does heywire user to heywire user now.

Just tried swirlysms and it works! But do I get charged for the SMS? Coz I'm using my maxis broadband line... Which has no SMS or call feature actually... So quite surprised I can send SMS

Yes for iOS can send SMS but need to have credit in account. Tested working (send/receive) on my iPad 3G - actually, don't need 3G, even WiFi also can.
