QUOTE(ianho @ Nov 18 2005, 02:09 AM) I was just wondering if any of u fellas r running a 5.25 bay reservoir with hairline cracks that's repaired with silicone sealant? I've got cracks on both inlet n outlet barbs. very very miniscule leak, after few hours leak test oni can c a little bit of blue at the cracks(coz I'm using blue CM Thermal Fluid). No actual dripping. I've sealed them up with silicone n allowed them to cure for 12 hours b4 using. U guys reckon it's OK or shud I order a new reservoir? bay reservoirs tend to have leaks from the barbs. worst is HDPE res, youll never know how tight to screw it in cuz the threads can expand. silicone sealant will work fine. just use the white type, not the translucent one.

hello peeps... sigh.. did an overhaul of the loop yesterday. disassemble everything and gave it a good wash. then reassembled back everything today. wanted to make the loop shorter. placed the pump on top of the psu.. it was a tight fit secured in place by the double heatercore pushing against it. then as i was mounting the rad, screwing in the fans... one screw was just too tight. unscrewed it then gave it a slight shove to the side and tigthen it down. it went it all the way with a 'klack' sound. didnt think much of it cuz its usually the sound of the rad and fan 'locking in place'. next filled up the loop then started the pump. weird cuz the eheim cant seem to pump anything at all. it was pumping air all the time. lay the casing flat this time and the pump was working. so i continued to fill the loop with more battery water. after the second filling the pump still failed to push the water through the loop!! retested with the casing on its side again and then i found water dripping from the radiator!!! fuxx... disassemble everything again and its confirmed.. that one screw broke one of the radiator's pipe. lesson learnt: i shouldnt have screwed more when the hole was getting tigther.double heatercore for sale anyone?? im on aircooling now... chapalang alu heatsink with 70mm fan
