 Renovation for Condo - Approval from authorities, Renovation for Condo - Approval

Hi all,

I plan to renovate my condo. basically just kitchen cabinet, built in wardrobe, plaster ceiling, electrical and grilles works.

Do i need to get approval from authorities? i did some survey in MBPJ website, but dont find any info with regards to reno for condo. Appreciate advice from experts here biggrin.gif

Just did mine. No need approval. Just inform the management for house rules. As for me from 9-4 pm weekdays and half day Saturday. Best of luck

condo reno does not require local authority's approval. but usually you do need consent from the condo's management, just pay a deposit (refundable if you do not damage communal properties). they usually just wants assurance that you are not doing any alterations to the existing structure within your unit, and also your electrical reno. is not too extensive (excessive draw of electrical power to your db)

Thanks for the feedback.

Yesterday, my contractor has started the work, but suddenly the Mgt Office called and asked me whether i got any approval from authorities for the plan. I wonder why they ask me such question, since I already submit the reno plan to them, and they already give me consent to proceed with the renovation works. so i thought i might i need to submit the plan to MBPJ for approval.
